What have you done... mainly because you read/heard/saw that Jimmy did it?

Hmmm.... may end up with quite a list here...

1. Going to Key West. (Next Weekend! Hurricanes stay away!)
2. Surfed.
3. Read "Don't Stop the Carnival."

So...? 8)
1) Read DSTC
2) Read all of Jimmy's books. Damn, they're good!
3) Ate Margaritaville Shrimp. Warning, that Jamaican Jerk Shrimp is touched with the fire!
4) Consumed Margaritas while hanging out at Air Margaritaville at Sun 'n Fun last April.
An over 40 victim of fate!

I've always wondered how anyone actually "Blows out" a flip-flop?

Lets see...............................

1 Went to Key West, just to see the sights and his shop/rest.
2 Went to South America (costa rica and belize among them)
3 Visited Florida as many time as I could - Someday I'll live there or on an island.
4 Adopted the Rita and/or Corona as my official drinks
5 Blew out many a flip flop (broke the center strap and fell down because of it)
6 Practice what I Preach (regaae jams)

lol That list is longer I'm sure. I think that Bubba persuaded me to realize that these things could come true if you tried hard in life to be sucessful and have fun at the same time. I have a ton of stuff I am going to do someday, inspired by songlines that fuel my childhood daydreams.

When we saw it in '87, it said "I ate the last mango in Paris, I took the last plane out of Saigon, I took the first fast boat to China, and there's still so much to be done." (No Jimmy in the line, that's the only difference.)

It was over the door on the inside of the men's room, written in BOLD black strokes. I had my hubster stand watch while I stepped inside to read it. :wench: (He saw it first and told me it was there.)

I think I even took a picture. Gotta go check...

Wow Krusin, great question! I was 17 when CILCIA was released and that was when I became a Parrot Head. Since then here are just a few things I've done because of an influence by Jimmy and/or Parrot Heads: Followed a dream (or two) and had them come true; Followed a few that didn't come true but had no regrets; bought my retirement home in the "Little Lattitudes" (it's just south of the Tropic of Cancer); bought a place on Maui; Learned to sail and crewed on a racing yacht for several years; Will race the Trans-Pac in 2007 (missed it this year); and probably the most important, I try to make a real effort to give back-to make this world just a little better than it was yesterday.

In April 0f 04 the walls were painted totally white with no writing.
The bartender said something about the health inspector making them paint it every so often.

Everyone gets their ideas or inspiration from somewhere is how I look at it.

I agree absolutely! Things that I have accomplished or attempted to accomplish and missed in my life were not inspired solely by Jimmy. Here are a few others: My dad, Beryl Markham, Mark Twain, Tex Johnston, my grandfather, my third grade teacher, George Harrison, Charles Lindbergh...My point is, S. O' Beach is bang on. Inspiration usually begins from some external source. Your success depends on the execution and effort to reach the goal created by the inspiration no matter the source of the inspiration.
