I think Migration would be a great choice. I think We are the People is appropriate. :D

Barometer Soup would have to be my choice. Great tropical feel and the lyrics of the chorus are perfect for an opener ("Come along let's have some fun.........")

While those would be great......I always tend to think of openers as being highly energized......to get the crowd goin'.....you know....more than they already are. :D

I think "We Are The People" would be great, since WE ARE.

There is one song I know that I think is perfect for Jimmy to sing. It may not be a good starter and he did not write it but the lyrics sound like him.

CORNER OF THE SKY
from Pippin
EVERYTHING HAS ITS SEASON
EVERYTHING HAS ITS TIME
SHOW ME A REASON AND I'LL SOON SHOW YOU A RHYME
CATS FIT ON THE WINDOWSILL
CHILDREN FIT IN THE SNOW
WHY DO I FEEL I DON'T FIT IN ANYWHERE I GO?

RIVERS BELONG WHERE THEY CAN RAMBLE
EAGLES BELONG WHERE THEY CAN FLY
I'VE GOT TO BE WHERE MY SPIRITS CAN RUN FREE
GOT TO FIND MY CORNER OF THE SKY

EVERY MAN HAS HIS DAYDREAMS
EVERY MAN HAS HIS GOALS
PEOPLE LIKE THE WAY DREAMS HAVE OF STICKING TO THE SOUL
THUNDERCLOUDS HAVE THEIR LIGHTNING
NIGHTINGALES HAVE THEIR SONG
AND DON'T YOU SEE I WANT MY LIFE TO BE SOMETHING MORE THAN LONG

RIVERS BELONG WHERE THEY CAN RAMBLE
EAGLES BELONG WHERE THEY CAN FLY
I'VE GOT TO BE WHERE MY SPIRITS CAN RUN FREE
GOT TO FIND MY CORNER OF THE SKY

SO MANY MEN SEEM DESTINED
TO SETTLE FOR SOMETHING SMALL
BUT I WON'T REST UNTIL I KNOW I'LL HAVE IT ALL
SO DON'T ASK WHERE I'M GOING
JUST LISTEN WHEN I'M GONE
AND FAR AWAY YOU'LL HEAR ME SINGING SOFTLY TO THE DAWN:

RIVERS BELONG WHERE THEY CAN RAMBLE
EAGLES BELONG WHERE THEY CAN FLY
I'VE GOT TO BE WHERE MY SPIRITS CAN RUN FREE
GOT TO FIND MY CORNER OF THE SKY...

Gotta be a song that makes people *move*! :D
I think Great Heart is one of the best openers Jimmy has used.

I also really, really like FRUITCAKES and One Particular Harbour! He could use Fruitcakes or One Particular Harbour at every concert and I would not be disappointed.

I think Ragtop Day is also good...I like it when Jimmy mentions all the names of the towns before arriving at his location.
