Happy B-day Jimmy; Here's your present....

Post by Quiet and Shy »

As we know, Jimmy will celebrate 59 this weekend. I was pondering what birthday present I might (hypothetically) send his way. The guy's already got "everything" and/or can afford anything else; he's got a great bunch of toys and a new airplane...so in a way, he's probably kind of tough to buy for. But then again, he has a lot of interests and hobbies. So, what might you think to send his way?

I would give him a guitar autographed by Jimi or an 1/8 of some great herb.

I've been thinking some sort of map or something about history...

I'm going with this book:

Over the Edge of the World: Magellan's Terrifying Circumnavigation of the Globe by Laurence Bergreen.

It's a great read about discovery, adventure, and sailing history.

A few sessions with a relationship therapist for Jimmy and Fingers...

I guess that'd be more for us though
Dumb and drunk as I was, you know I would do it all again.

I've thought of making a sign that says, "Happy Early Birthday Jimmy" but it depends on if I have time tonight or not.

I'd give him anonymity, if I could. The ability to go out and enjoy dinner, a movie, a favorite beach, or even a Buffett tailgate, all without being recognized by a single person.

I think a great present for JB would be to somehow someway, show him how much he means to us and how much he has affected our lives in such positive ways. I think that would mean alot to him. He doesn't need anything material. I want to believe that he cares about his phans and wants to know that he and his music truly makes a difference in this world.
