I think Happily Ever After would be a good closing song!

I agree -- the Dave Matthews stuff last year was a disappointment!

Cheers all!

a nice treat at mohegan last year was helpless.....right after Neil Youngs father died....was pretty moving. I'm not normally a fan of a cover as a closer, but it fit.
Some of it's magic, some of it's tragic, but I had a good life all the way

Those are ALL good choices, and I think any one of them would be just as good as the other.
Last year in Hawaii I was HOPING he'd finish with "Back To the Islands." It would've been perfect.
But he and Henry Kapono closed with "Duke's On Sunday," and that definately gave everyone goose bumps.

I was at the last Vegas show in 04, and he did close with "Back to the Islands." Appropriate, since I think it was the last stop listed on the LTC tour.

And yes, it was VERY, VERY cool. :D

Given that, maybe the closer for the shows later this summer is one we've yet to hear...

Could very well be, krusin.
And maybe the last words he says to us this year will be "SEE YOU ALL NEXT YEAR."

I agree that as long as its not his last song I will be happy. The rumors of retirement have me bumbed. (Iknow they are there every year) Hope for a show in Vegas this year, I've heard its a great party. I couldn't make last year and had to give away my tickets. :(

I think he'll definately do a Las Vegas show this year.
ESPECIALLY since he gets 110% of the gross at the MGM Grand.
I hope you'll get to go.
And welcome to Buffett News.

The Fenway Park Defying Gravity closer was my favorite of all the shows I've attended.

From the show's I've attended, my 2 favorite closers were:

1. Coast of Marseilles (just Jimmy with Amy on Sax) in 2001
2. He Went to Paris/Here Comes the Sun (solo) in 2002

It was also very cool to hear Prince of Tides in Columbia. Not a favorite of mine but I don't think it's played too often.

I just hope he does Vegas the last weekend in October- we scheduled the wedding around that assumption!

Beyond The End...would be a great choice in my opinion, and I don't believe that it has ever been performed live.

Also, I loved the Green Flash at Sunset/Time to Go Home from the Carnival Tour...
