So now Jimmy's "paring" down the horn section?
What gives? Does he really need to save the extra few grand on two horn players?? Why not write some new arrangements, spice things up a little, rather than strip down the sound? And the ultimate eye candy, Heather Dean Perry, is now gone as well?
Ticket prices go up, JB starts thinking smaller and smaller. Each year there are fewer tour stops, which is fine, the guy is getting older, and fewer surprises in the setlist, and more mediocre restaurants. They can't even get the Coastal Confessions DVD finished and out on a timely basis.
It's starting to get a little insulting. And all the parrotheads who just keep apologizing, and empowering Jimmy, ought to wise up a little. We're being played like Doyle Grisham's steel guitar.
Growing older but not less greedy...

Simple solution. If you don't like the way he does business, don't spend your money at his shows or in his businesses. Simple.
Carry on as you know they would want you to do. ~~JB, dedication to Tim Russert

personally, i am kind of happy the horns are going away.
I hope that all the greedy bastards in the world
Come back as lobsters.
You know that life at the bottom of the food chain
Suits them well.
I think that all of the evil people of the world
Come back as horseflies,
They want one last bite before they're sent to hell.

Wow....It seems nobody is happy anymore. It's his band. He can make whatever changes he wants. It's his music. He can play it anyway he wants. It his show. He can do whatever setlist he wants. He has had the same band for several years. Maybe he wants to change his sound up a bit. It's not like he has fired the whole band, and started all over. Even if he did-who are we to say what he can, and can't do. He just took out a couple of intruments. He almost has to keep the trumpet for his jazzy songs, and the mexican style solos in others. You are complaining about something that you have no control over. I think it will be interesting to see what he does with the band, both in the studio, and live. I, personally, can't wait to hear the new cd. And I really can't wait to see him live again. Unfortunately Florida will have to wait unitl the end of the tour to see him. From what I've heard, and it could always change, he is going to close out the tour in November in Orlando.
