Now see I knew SGH and LIPH from COBO as well...good to see you two. How's New York, LIPH? Were you at the MSG show? And SG-remember this picture from the 2002 FSOTW Tour?

Matty wrote:I can't believe no one has mentioned that the song Jimmy played during video intermissions all tour is different than the song that was used to soundtrack the enhanced video! This is most definately a different (and worse) rendition of Here We Are!!! Not only does he skip the song on the tracklisting, but he replaces it with a worse version on the video! What is up with that? Man, I hate to be a downer, especially on release day, but this is not right. I was disappointed that he wasn't including the track on the disc, but I decided to just deal with it. Now I get this version and it sounds like Jimmy whipped it up in 5 minutes. The video was terrific...I love that stuff, but the song? I remember a while back, there was a listening party going on and when they played HWA, a poster noted that it sounded different...a little off. He/she must have heard this version. I've posted on COBO for a long time, and I've moved here, so please don't think I'm this chronic complainer, because I'm not. I just speak my mind. I'm disappointed in this direction Jimmy has taken. Aside from that, I really liked the disc. I am on my second listen and there aren't many take-em-or-leave-em songs. Thanks for letting me vent everyone!
artistic license... the version from Shoreline and Alpine was better, but it is still a good song. Even better when you are with people who know the words at a concert or Phlocking

That picture is from the Thursday GW show, isn't it? I went to the Saturday show that year, my first trip to GW.

I have to admit I too like the first version of the song. It was alittle rough but it just seemed to have more feeling. Oh well thats why he is the boss and we are the flock following.

I bet he's up there playing with some dogs, drinking Jameson's and listening to Buffett's next couple albums (hey, he might have PRETTY good connections up there for WAYYYY in advanced screenings) and just thinking about how damn cold it was that Thursday, standing in the rain, and smoking out of a pipe that was constructed to look like a cigarette. Brings a smile to my face...also, those two shows were best shows I've been to. Trina and Chris were in from Montana, and we spent Thursday at the show, then Friday at the New England Aquarium, then Legal Seafoods for dinner and then the Mac MacAnnally show at the House Of Blues. Then Saturday, we had 9th row seats and seeing Tonight I Just Need My Guitar from the close was just spectacular. Great show, great album (FSOTW) and great picture....too bad you couldn't have made the Thursday show, Larry.

This is honestly the first time I've been to this site in years, and look what I find!!!

Hi gang! I recognize that picture. I'm that hot little number in front. :D I just couldn't help myself. I had to say, "Hi!"

I miss John too. He truly was a pirate born 200 years too late. May I also add that John is not the only one gone from this world in that picture. My sweet Christopher (the balding guy in back) passed away this past March as well.

I hope it's okay that I just resurfaced a thread that's a year old.
