I have now reviewed 20 lists.

The same two songs that were 1-2 last time are battling it out again.
The rest of the top 10 is surprising.
There have been 16 songs listed that were not listed last time.
Those 20 people have chosen 87 different songs.
4 of the SYKBH have not received a single vote.

The database is, admittedly, incomplete...set lists are sketchy before 1986

After reading her(?) list, I think it would be interesting to know the percentage of songs on our lists were written or co-written by Buffett. This list is what - 20%? Off the top of my head, 8 were not, but I'm not positive. I'm wondering about my own list now!

Not sure what the exact criteria is for what exactly makes a Jimmy Buffett song a Jimmy Buffett song . . . but Banana Republics in the top ten?

Um, what next - Southern Cross or Brown Eyed Girl or Mexico?

THAT is a little disturbing.
the hit and run is as good as any religion around this time of year . . .

Southern Cross did receive a couple votes so far, and that's fine.
The others that you mention...he has recorded on studio albums. We are ranking HIS recordings.

I'd have a problem if someone ranked "You Can't Always Get What You Want" or something like that...

Thats cool . . . I just lean way in the direction of songs Jimmy wrote himself based on things he knows and has experienced. Sort of a historical view of exotic places at more simpler times that have relevance in our own lives.

Banana Republics is a great song. I just feel that Jimmy has written more than enough himself and that those songs should be the focus.

And I'm sure many people agree....thus 9 of the top 10 (so far) are songs he wrote!
