LandShark in my fridge
And it will probably stay there. Not exactly my idea of a good tasting beer.

Too many of you are out there are trying to one of two things in bashing Landshark Lager. (1) Trying to disprove you are sheep by liking anything Jimmy ties his name too, or (2) proving your beer snob mentality by providing lesser known named beers that get less attention, thus making yourself appear more in the know in beer culture. It's fashionable to bash beer that others may like. It's the same thing where Europeans like to dis American beer, because we don't need a spoon to drink it. I happen to like Landshark a lot, I think it is what it's advertised. It's smooth and refreshing, its not meant to be dark, its meant to be consumed light, although its not a lite beer I get that. I've had it with Lime, good. Without lime, good. Corona can't say this, which is why I prefer the landshark. It's smooth, not bitter, not to heavy in the beer flavor that turns off the causal beer people like myself. If you like your beer rich with a spoon don't drink it, but don't insult others who prefer the diluted stuff. To each is own... also not like something or not admit to liking something because you think its cool not to.

Europeans don't bash on American beers because they're too light. The Germans invented the larger and the Checs invented the Pilsner. They bash on them because we ruin everything we drink because every liquid has to be homogenized and it significantly affects the flavor. Why in gods name would you homogenize something with alcohol in it? You use alcohol to sterilize things against bacteria so why? Europeans are starting to say American beers are getting better but still have that "after taste" because of the homogenization process used on beer here.

I can't speak for the other people who don't like Landshark but: 1. It's a lousy beer and they have a lot of balls charging $7 for a 12 oz. bottle or $7.50 for a 6-pack; 2. I'm not a beer snob. I'll try almost any kind of beer once, especially if I'm on vacation and it's something I can't get in the NYC/LI area, but if it tastes bad and it's overpriced there's no point in trying it a second time. Landshark tastes bad and it's overpriced.cecoleman wrote:Too many of you are out there are trying to one of two things in bashing Landshark Lager. I wonder how many "Parrotheads" would be pounding down a landshark if it didn't have Jimmy's name on it.
And how in the world can they make Landshark a "lite" beer? It already has no flavor.
Smooth? Yeah, tap water is smooth too.
Beer snob? I'm more of a value snob.

add me to the list of those who really like it
has it's time and place - AZ is pretty hard to get really good beer in anyhow - mainly a big domestics marketplace
i first had it at our local "native new yorker" restaurant - $2 a bottle for the entire month - like it more than corona for sure - better than azteca and a bunch of other beers in that style
it's good for what it is - a very light, crisp way to get booze - pretty much my entire circle enjoys it
goes good when I'm sitting out in the sun, just ate a large meal or am killing myself with fried foods
the style isn't my favorite - last night I was at westgate and i turned down landsharks at m'ville (even though they'll put tequila in it for you) for a variety of IPA and double hopped beers at the yard house
wouldn't be my everyday drink - just like i normally wouldn't reach for any beer in that style - but when the mood hits it works just fine
