Jimmy Buffett Themed Restaurants in Chicagoland Area

Post by justin_munsch7 »

I just moved to downtown Chicago and I am looking for a place to hang out that is similar to CBIP or Margaritaville. I love Marely's in Wisconsin Dells, WI and the Painted Parrot in Milwaukee, WI. Does anyone know of anywhere?? :pirate:

Oh, I recommend doing a restaurant search off of Google or something. Just search 'tropical themed chicago restaurants' or something of that sort. G'luck!

Trader Vics just reopened on State Street somewhere. It does not get much more tropical then that in the City of Chicago.

Billy Goat's (where Jimmy was filmed flipping cheeseburgers).
There's one near Wrigley Field and one downtown.

There's also a placed called "H.K.'s Grocery Store & Island Cuttas". (Also not far from the stadium).

There is a lounge called Hala-kahiki. It is located in River Grove. The address is 2834 n. River rd. They have drinks called the Valcano. It serves 4. With a shot of 151 that they set on fire.

The phone # is: (708) 456-3222

They also have a gift shop where You can buy tiki cups for drinks tiki huts. Stuff like dat.

I haven't been there in at least 1 year. Not much food, but all the flower shirts You can hope for. Call before You go there. Please e-mail me if You go.

My Parents went there in the 50's and 60's. I have always had a great time when ever I went there.

The web site has photos. It's worth a look that way.

Key Wester in Naperville has great food and sometimes the bar has some good bands.

Reading this thread makes me believe there is a business opportunity out here in the Burbs . . . . What a horrible market to try starting up in . . .
The Parrot Dice Lounge kinda like a mirage. Here today and gone tomorrow. You should stop by and say hello when visiting Chicago on tour.

Flip Flops is my new home court in Carol Stream, but for me it's really always been where ever Mr. Myers is playing.

Key Wester is owned by the Portillo's people.

The CIPs are in Downers Grove, Des Plaines, and Algonquin.

I usually just look for where the good bands are playing, try to find those bars. If the bar isn't tropical, at least the music is!
