New Album Announcement — due out April 2010

I received an email from "Feedblitz" about this — No one else said anything about it, so I'm thinking it got buried in all the hubbub about the 2010 concert dates.

"Encores" — Live Acoustic Album coming in April
Jimmy Buffett is also gearing up for the release of "Encores", a new live acoustic album that will be comprised of the intimate final encore songs at the (end) of each concert, many solo, and some with band members or special guests. No exact release date has been set but fans can expect Encores to drop in stores this April.

Yeah — I'll buy one.

I see no reason for me to get excited.
I can already make an encores cd with all of the "live in" albums that have come out in the last few years.
I'm not sure if it will be earth shatterring or give eargasms.
Basically imagine "Distantly in love" from Live In Anguilla where the words are all butchered.
An acoustic studio album would be a real wet dream.
Of course, I will buy it. Heck, Jimmy could fart "Songs You Know By Heart and I'd buy it"

It's been talked about for a while and now it's finally going to be released. Wonder if any of his Jazz Fest encores will be on it. He did Biloxi a few years back and it was excellent. That may have been '02.

He does Coastal Confessions on the Live at Fenway CD/DVD from Sept. 2004. It's almost as good as the version on License to Chill. I love that song. On the DVD there is the sweetest shot of a little girl in a Fins hat singing along.

Maybe he'll get around to releasing Coastal Confessions in this decade since he didn't do it last decade. When was that done? I can't remember.
