We live in The Woodlands TX (hence the name) but have a condo here in Destin. Have been coming here since 1992. Bought a condo a couple of years ago. We really love Destin and the surrounding areas. The new Margaritaville should be fun. Great location- I think it was last called Tightlines if I'm not mistaken.

Another view from Harborwalk Village. The existing building is the location of the original Lucky Snapper near the east end of the Destin Bridge. It was our first bar we would hang out regularly when we first moved to the Destin area 20 years ago. Met my best friend, Big Ed, there when he was a bartender there. We used to go see Kieth Urban perform there in '93. The building has been rebuilt at least once due to Hurricane Opal in '94. Currently the ground level has been gutted. They have added pilings on the west side to accommodate more dining with amazing sunset views. This is a home run location for anyone who wants to look out over the Destin East Pass, the Jetties and the Destin fishing fleet and enjoy a beautiful sunset. We can't wait!

Anyone have any updates on the progress or an anticipated opening date? I was in PCB last week and was wondering. Guess I should have asked at Margaritaville there.

Yesterday I drove by there on the way home from work to check the progress. Looks like they have added about 30% more interior floor space to the old Lucky Snapper building.They have redone the entry and have added a couple of new decks overlooking the harbor and East Pass (sunsets!). Last time we spoke with the developer, November or December is the planned opening. Also, a new zip line attraction recently opened directly in front of the Cafe. Should add an interesting experience after a few margaritas.

Entertainment auditions for Margaritaville Destin

Margaritaville will open soon at the Harborwalk Village in Destin, FL and we’re looking for great local talent! Performances will take place nightly throughout 2013.

Band auditions will be by scheduled appointment only on October 13-15 for:
• Bands
• Duos
• Solo Acoustic Guitar Performers

All talent must be able to:
• Play covers to connect with audiences of all ages & perform guest requests
• Perform different styles of cover music (Classic Rock, Country, Top-40, Dance)
• Interact with the audience & focus on performing fun and upbeat music

To be considered for an audition include:
Contact information, play list & link to website with samples of your work.
(Additionally, if you are playing local public venues between Oct. 13-15,please include venue name & address and performance time.)

Just a quick update:

Last week, a worker for one of the subcontractors fell 15 feet from the roof breaking ribs and sustaining other injuries. The community has sent much Fin Power to him and his family.

Secondly, according to newly hired employees, the tentative opening date is February 2. Just in time for Spring Break.

Margaritaville signs were being installed today. Couldn't get a picture with all the fog and mist. Shouldn't be long now.

February opening is confirmed by the marquee in front of the complex.

I was in the Shreveport Margaritaville yesterday and what I considered to be a very good source told me February 17 for the Destin, FL opening.

That is confirmed by the Destin staff. Orientation began today.
