HAHA! That's awesome. I actually had an experience where I got to see Buffett play one song (School Boy Heart) about a half dozen times in a row. It was around 1996 when I lived in NYC. I worked for DC Comics, whose offices are directly across the street from the Ed Sullivan Theater where the David Letterman show is taped. One day I heard Buffett was going to be on Letterman that night (this was right after he released "Banana Wind") and so I asked a friend at my work who had a connection over at Letterman if she could get me a ticket. Well, she couldn't get me in for the actual show but said I could go watch the band do their sound check. So I sat there in the Ed Sullivan theater, and I was the only person sitting in the seats, as Jimmy and the Band played through "School Boy Heart" over and over again. It was awesome! Especially since it's my favorite song on that album.

Here is a little SOC from the Woodlands. Such a great show.

Re: Special Hawaii Show
Looks like this is just one show (December 14). According to a post I read in another thread, the first part of the show will be Songs From St. Somewhere performed in it's entirety and the second half will be all requests. However, unless I'm just not looking in the right spot, I haven't been able to find any mention of this whatsoever on Margaritaville.com. Also, does anyone know where the site is for the online voting? I can't seem to find any mention of that on Margaritaville.com either. Perhaps he's going to wait until closer to the concert date to announce where fans can go to vote for their favorite songs.PackerPhan wrote:In the town that coined the term “parrothead,” Jimmy Buffett announced that he’ll play a show based solely on fan votes.
Midway through the Cincinnati show on Tuesday night, Jimmy said that after the Songs From St. Somewhere Tour ends he’ll head to Hawaii where he’ll play the entire Songs From St. Somewhere Album, and then play a second show where all 27 songs will be decided by online voting. Every song in Buffett’s entire catalog is in the running.

Re: Special Hawaii Show
Wherever it is, I hope they can figure out some way to keep someone like 4chan or anonymous from skewing the results like they did with the Toyota racecar promo a couple of years ago. This should be a true vote, not a "pack the ballot box" thing like voting for the MLB All-Star rosters.Tiki Torches wrote:Also, does anyone know where the site is for the online voting?
