Ditto. I forgot to check off Volcano, I could easily live without that one in addition to Cheeseburger and 5 O'Clock Somewhere.

No Brainer....5 O'clock. Southern Cross cuz he tends to just shout the whole song now (although there's also others he does too) & Volcano. After the Utley intro keys, the song just sounds tired. Has lost that reggae vibe.

Voted. But I would give up all three votes to be able to choose WDWGDAS which was not an option.

I'm with you. Probably my favorite "cover" song he does. It's fun live.

Once we eliminate all of these songs
we'll finally have the concert we want,
and we can just sit quietly, listen
and appreciate great song writing
while gently swaying in our seats.
No more of this stand up and dance, sing and shout nonsense.

Funny to see the different opinions. Come Monday is high on my list of songs to skip. I regularly edit it and Brown Eyed Girl out of concert edits I make. I did like at concerts when Brown Eyed Girl led into an intermission because then I could leave for my bathroom break early.

I love Southern Cross. Maybe it's just the memories of some of my early shows (96 and 97) when he played that song and there weren't 100 copies of it available for download yet. Our group would go crazy, and we still do.

Well lucky for you that it already made its way out of heavy rotation. I want to say I had heard of an interview where Jimmy said he saw it as a song where people would riot if he didn't play it. Then he made a setlist one time and forgot to put it in and looking back nobody seemed to care. So, that led to it taking more of a back seat. Perhaps I am remembering wrong though. Regardless, maybe this poll will get seen by the powers that be and, with enough votes and clear losers, perhaps some other tunes could get some rest.

. . and I can't believe OPH is on the list . . . again, to me, the hi-lite of any concert is waiting for the . . . " BUT NOT YET ! ! " . .

. . that's when my hands go straight up and I holler . . . ! !

. . that, and Nadirah's solo . . .

I enjoy Southern Cross for the WOOOO's!

I wouldn't mind 5 o'clock's omission, but doubt it since it was his #1, even though it was a bit part. I'd rather he threw Knee Deep back on in it's place.

CIP for it's cheesiness, no pun intended.

And BEG... it's high energy, but I could do without it.

I'm surprised some are tired of Volcano... I always enjoy that one for some reason.

I voted out BEG, 5:00, and SC in that order.
Still love to dance to Volcano!
I'm so very sick of BEG - especially when he puts it on his "live" CDs.
Don't mind SC and 5:00, but I agree there are so many of his own stuff I'd rather hear - even when only listening on RM.

. . gonna ask for help here . .

. . I recently heard a version of a standard ( CIP, maybe ? ? ) . . that had a different arrangement/musical vibe to it . . . kinda reggae like . . .

. . anyone help fill in the blank . . ? ?

. . but it gave an all too familiar tune a new, fresh feeling to it . . . I liked it, a lot . .

Jimmy did an alternate arrangement of Boat Drinks. I was certain it was within the last couple of years. Turns out it was 12 years ago.

Is this what you're thinking of?

I'm not sure if it's what you're thinking of but I'm pretty sure he also did a reggae rearrangement of "In the Shelter" at one point.

. . :o

. . yowza . . that was so over-the-top corny, it was borderline painful . . . . ! ! . . but no, I would have chosen to put THAT one out of my memory . . .

. . but it did pick up on the idea of " old song / new version " . .
