Grapefruit Juicy Fruit (acoustic)
God's Own Drunk (acoustic w/Mac)
It's My Job (acoustic w/Mac)
He Went to Paris (acoustic w/Mac & Doyle)
The Captain & the Kid (acoustic w/Mac & Doyle)
One Particular Harbour
The Weather is Here...

Nautical Wheelers
Encore 1:
Peanut Butter Conspiracy
Boat Drinks
Encore 2:
A Pirate Looks at Forty (acoustic w/Mac & Doyle)
Death of an Unpopular Poet (acoustic w/Mac & Doyle)
Listened to it on iPod, played around with the order a couple of times, plays well. The "Cuba/Miami" section near the beginning and the "Key West" section to close out main set were purposeful.
I think it'd be an awesome show - won't happen, but still I think good stuff.

So there are 100 pair of tickets being given away. Other than the media is there any other way to win/get any of these tickets? Or is it 200 fans and the rest media and friends?
edit;
oops, nix that the capacity is only 360. So it looks like it will be almost all fans. (Thanks Jimmy!)

Re: This one really for you?????
They just released a video of Jimmy relearning wonder why we ever go home. Which is #64 lol
Even Jimmy is trying to salvage this cluster of a contest. They are basically saying drop the yellow album songs and pick some unplayed songs. Isn't going to happen because it's a contest.
Free is the worst price to put on anything. The idea of free tickets brought out all the people who only know margaritaville. They went to a concert once and therefore you have 1 thru 27 as the normal set list.... Because that's all the recognize.
If they would have made it that you had to pay 20$ a ticket if you won I feel the list would be a lot different.
If you picked c. I. P you should feel bad.

Re: This one really for you?????
Part of the fun of the Key West Set List show is watching the boss relearn some of his less played classics like this one. Right now 'Wonder why we ever go home" currently sits at #65 on the depth chart. What do you think? Should it make the set list? You can modify your choices right up until contest closes on March the 2nd so while this video helps you escape the brutal weather for a few minutes maybe it will also inspire your set lists! Fins Up!! http://www.margaritaville.tv/
Lol basically they said stop picking the hits. I did email them last week and said the hits are great but Jimmy should remove them and play songs like wonder why we never go home, rancho deluxe, livingstons gone to Texas , buttermilk grove etc

Re: This one really for you?????
Good Luck to everyone on this board!! I hope many of us are at this very special concert. I am not surprised that the standards are all making it into the show since the odds are probably astronomical for us to all vote on the same not normally played tunes to make it into the top 27. The ones I chose are down in the 60's . . .

Ok, seriously...
The contest was never described/promoted as "just for the hard-core fan" or "just for BN'ers." So going in, you HAD to know that it's gonna be open to, and participated in by... EVERYONE.
If Jimmy ever puts on a show "just for BN-type people" and it's full of yellow album stuff, I guess THEN you could complain. For now, though, if you win the tix and don't like the setlist, DON'T GO. (send 'em my way? - I'll be more than happy to take them off your hands.)

Re: This one really for you?????
I will admit that this little contest has kind of been an emotional rollercoaster for me. At first I was really excited about the possibilities when they gave us the hints. Then I got a little depressed reading about how everyone thought it was a cruise. Then I got excited again at what was being offered, only to have my spirit broken upon learning that the yellow album people seem to be robbing us of a once in a lifetime opportunity.
BUT, after hearing Jimmy mention this very web-site and knowing that he did this with good intentions, possibly even to please so many of us who do complain regularly about the set-list, well, I am okay now. In fact, after my 8 day trip to St. Croix, where my Buffett roots sprouted 39 years ago, I am better than okay.
I missed the concert of my dreams 12+ years ago (the second benefit concert for Montessori). That was my fault and a regret I will always have.
Knowing that Jimmy is trying to reach out and account for people like me/us, puts a smile on my face and let's me know that he hears us, appreciates us and does what he can. Could I expect more? Maybe. But the masses are speaking and his empire depends on them. I can no longer fault him for playing to the paying crowd when he makes an effort to also give the diehard phans a reason to by tickets with their charge card. Which is exactly what I may do this year. August 15, 2015 is my 40th birthday. August 18, 2015 is my 14 year wedding anniversary. I've got an opportunity to celebrate both at a Buffett Concert, and if he really learns 100 songs and diversifies the set lists, I could not think of a better place to be on those two days.

Re: This one really for you?????
I agree. I'd love it as much as anyone else if Margaritaville, Why Don't We, Fins, and Cheeseburger weren't a part of it. If that's what Jimmy wanted too, then all he had to do was not include them in the songs to be selected. Sure, some people would have written them in anyway, but they wouldn't be dominating the setlist because people could only write-in two choices.krusin1 wrote:msu#1 wrote:They just released a video of Jimmy relearning wonder why we ever go home. He also could redo the setlist voting to include votes from just the people who get selected. It might end up the same way, but then the show would truly be "just for" the people who are going.
