Fender Stratocaster Colo(u)r
Hidey Hoe Buffettoreno's!!
As some of you may know I have a bit of a nerdy hobby building guitars.
It is time to finally build a Fender Stratocaster (look-a-like).
I quite like the colo(u)r of the strat that Jimmy has been strutting recently.
Can anyone confirm if it is in fact Fender's Sea-Foam Green? (Fender No.49)
Thanks in Advance

Personally I think this is the only colour for a strat

Re: Fender Stratocaster Colo(u)r
DAB's first image is the colour I am asking about.
I had a fiddle with Photoshop - grabbing the colour codes of various swatches from the Fender Colour Chart and comparing them to the code from the image.
(I know that this is fraught with danger as cameras, screens, colorspaces etc all render differently BUT...)
It appears to quite close to Fenders "Tropical Turquoise" #83bfbd vs 81dcdf in the image.
Or in rgb colours:
131
191
189
vs
129
220
223
However, given Mr Buffett's penchant for nice guitars and his disposable income, it is probably a custom color from the Fender Custom Shop, you know something like the turquoise of a 1957 El Dorado or Chevelle.

Jimmy has been playing three different Fender guitars this tour: One is Seafoam Green, there is also a light pink one and his standard light colored wood FenderRabbitz wrote:Hidey Hoe Buffettoreno's!!

I got nothing on the colo(u)r thing, Rabz. I just think it's so cool that you build guitars.
I once built a miniature house out of toothpicks. It was tan. And it fell apart. My building expertise is somewhat limited.

Re: Fender Stratocaster Colo(u)r
Hi urlcenter,
Yup that one is definitely Seafoam green.
The one in the Jurrasic World clip is interesting, I'd like to have a closer look.
When I get home tonight I'll have to do some image searching.
When comparing the two images the bridges look a bit different, but I am not sure of it is a trick of the light. Hence the search for more pretty pictures. (he is also using a different strap but that isn't all that definitive).
Thanks all, for digging out the other images.

Re: Fender Stratocaster Colo(u)r
Ok I couldn't wait - had a quick search and it seems they may well be different guitars:
The one that urlcentre posted has a tremolo bridge, while the one he used at the Jurassic Park promo looks like a fixed bridge. It also look like is gold in colour while the tremolo like like a standard silver one.
It doesn't help with the colours but one is seafoam, the jury is out on the other...
(I told you guitar tech stuff was nerdy)

Possibly, Daphne Blue. Looks a little dark, but with the white sport coat and stage lights the exposure may be off.

Re: Fender Stratocaster Colo(u)r
Now that IS a nice colour.
Apparently it is also a General Motors colour so it might not be too hard to get it mixed.
Thanks Will.

A few shows ago, I think Mac called them Shell Pink and Sea foam Green.
