Library Shelfie WED @ the MSC

Post by Saltx3 »

Good Morning!

Never heard of this national "holiday".....but here's what it's all about. When was the last time you were at the library? I go regularly for movies. Can't be a free movie and our library has tons of Blu-Ray DVDs and we have a week to watch & return or renew if no one has it reserved. Plus there are 2 libraries within 1/2 mile of where we work and our home!

LIBRARY SHELFIE DAY
The fourth Wednesday in January offers a unique opportunity for book lovers on Library Shelfie Day.
Some collectors of books tend to arrange their collections so their spines can be admired pleasantly. Others have a system of organization that results in an alternative art form. However our books are organized on the shelf, they are meant to be photographed and shared on social media.

Good morning Linda and Tammy. I spent a lot of time in our town library when younger. The building is Greek revival and built with oil money. I fell in love with stories of the seven seas there.
If I wasn't fishing in this all day rain,I'd be home doing something stupid.

Good Morning BN'ers!!
Our local libraries have great CD collections, therefore I've perused for hours checking out CD's & burning them into my I-pod library.

Is it a Carnegie Library? The one in my neighborhood was referred to as "the old library" because they built a new library in 1962. Now, "the new library" is called "the old library" because they built a new library and there's now apartments/condos where the old (new) one sat.....

You know you're getting old when you remember the new one that got so old that they tore it down and built a new new one! :-?

Andrew Carnegie was an amazing man, he helped build more than 2,500 libraries around the world. There were 46 in Washington, including 8 in Seattle.

Afternoon BN.

Lots of running around today. Grocery store, walmart, oil change, hair cut, & to the mall for 6 month warranty check for my necklace. Phew!
Now to make some spaghetti for early dinner as I have a SAR mtg tonight.

Happy hump day y'all!

P.s. only library I ever went to was at school, while I was in school & never really got much done there

I love our little local library. Best thing is that they will order in books that they don't have, you can handle it all on line and they send an alert when your book arrives.
You only have two options - havin' fun or freakin' out...

For awhile I was using the local library because they had free links to Ancestry, etc
If no one is using the computers, I could really spread out and dig deep. I have had memberships with Ancestry but the library is easier. However, I loved searching on Sun during football but the library is closed Sun. :(

Hi there! We shopped and ate Mexican. I picked up enough art supplies at Hobby Lobby, that I was dropping things. Paint tubes are slippy.
Andrew Carnegie built a wonderful art and science museum in Pittsburgh. As a rival of J. D. Rockefeller, A.C. was the first robber baron to give back through donations.

I visit three different libraries and average three to four books a week. Not including my library at home.

Howdy! :)

Made it to work today. Not feeling great, but pretty sure this is on its way out. You would have thought I missed more than ONE day.

50's and sunny, but windy today.

That's about it. No libraries for us lately. We mostly donate books to the one closest to us. :)

Late evening check in. I was busy again today at work and when I left there was still a big pile on my desk and more in my in box. Kevin left work early. Said he didn’t “feel right”. Hopefully not getting the bug that seems to be going around.

Our new shower was done on Sunday but we were good and gave the sealant time to set. Took our showers yesterday morning. There was a leak. Couldn’t tell if it was from the glass doors or the tiles. Contractor came back. Said he thinks he fixed the problem. Took showers this morning. Still leaking but not as bad. Came back today. Will see what tomorrow brings. We love the shower..... just hope this is resolved.
