Thursday National Croissant Day

Post by Dr.Corona »

Good Morning BN'ers. Jan 30th is National Croissant Day! A tasty item indeed.

National Croissant Day History:
National Croissant Day celebrates one of the world’s most famous breakfast meals. Although most people believe that the Croissant was invented in France, its actual birthplace is Vienna, Austria. The pastry spread in France around 1839, when the Austrian Baker August Zang opened a Viennese Bakery in Paris. Naturally, many different types of Croissants were developed over the years, some more buttery, some less. Some croissants can reach over ten inches, some smaller portions can be around two inches. It all depends on the occasion, the chef, and the taste. What we know for sure is that Croissants are now served all over the world, and its national day is celebrated every year on January 30th.

Happy Friday Eve!
Holding my breath as Computer tech comes in today & tries to right the ship regarding transitioning our old Windows 7 computer system over to new Windows 10 system. Finding out now that initial transfers didn't go so well regarding operation of various programs.
Computers, love em when they're functioning properly...but when there are glitches....cue the rant & rave tape....

Good morning Ken and Debbie. Not a fan of croissants or computer stuff. When everything in education was computerized, we were told it would save time and paperwork. With all the malfunctions, we were told to back everything up... on paper!
If I wasn't fishing in this all day rain,I'd be home doing something stupid.

Good morning.

There's a coffee shop/bakery here called Croissants. I've never been there.

Hi everyone! My car is still in the shop. Hopefully it will be finished today and we can go pick it up after Bryan gets home from work. Just doing the usual Thursday chores around the house. 🙄
I love croissants! There was a bakery in Columbus that made awesome Chocolate filled Croissants.... yummy!

Happy Friday Eve, lurkers. 8) Same here. Also, croissants rock. The real, gigantic, flaky ones. [smilie=yum.gif]

Good evening!

E was in Nebraska for work, and I couldn't wake up this morning! Then, running just a few minutes late, I had to scrape a little bit of snow/ice. Not terrible, but enough to add a few minutes to the time to work.

He's home now, and I'm happy. We had more snow here, and people just f'in can't drive in just a few inches.

While I waited for him to get home, I did a load of laundry, picked out clothes for tomorrow, unloaded/loaded the dishwasher, then made him a little dinner.

Looking forward to the weekend, as birthday celebrations begin with dinner, hotel stay, and a DU Hockey game. :D :D :D
