In the days of checks, I obsessed over old ladies at the grocery checkout. After their total came up, they would slowly pull out the book and start writing out the check. Time seemed to stand still.
Then they would ask, "Who do I make this out to?"
I had a fun thought on this. Tim Conway's liitle old man at check out.

Morning Trendsetters and Tax-Dodgers!

BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR. Woke up to 42°F this morning. Gee that sounds a lot better than 6°C!!

Day two of the flooring install. Should be all done today. Then we need to wait for the blind guy to turn up (I hope he can find the place :) ), once the blinds are in, then, and only then, can the fun of emptying the shipping container back into the house begin.

I hope things start to settle down over there - the vision is awful. Nero and the burning of Rome does come to mind.

We were newly married with a kitten that played with the blinds chord in a custom sized window. Anne walked out of the bedroom swinging a foot of the chord, telling me solved the problem. I asked if she checked to see if the blinds still came down before she cut the chord.. Her mouth dropped.

The blinds didn't. Not all the way down anyway.

It's still that way. :D

Waiting on pasta to cook to finish up the Chicken Cacciatore I put in the crock pot for dinner tonight. Hope it tastes as good as it smells. I have the day off tomorrow and I will be cleaning house and brushing the big dogs. I will do my best to avoid watching the news as it does nothing but make me angry and sad. Hope everyone has a good evening. ☮️ ♥️🍹

Chilly morning here, too, and even though it was sunny out it was crazy blustery.

Dinner is homemade shepherd's pie, perfect for this kind of weather.
You only have two options - havin' fun or freakin' out...

Good evening, BN. :)

These 'protests' are a bunch of BS.

My work day started with a text at 6:40 from the Unit Secretary/Receptionist. Not feeling well. Can I cover the phones? So, no lunch, and 9 hours later.. Also the Nurse Manager and the Chief Clinical Officer were out. SO, it was NOT a good day..... But I have a job. :)

Good news: I got reservations at Bonefish Grill on the 21st for our 13th anniversary. :D

Good/bad news: Gonna schedule my belly surgery for June 25th, that was supposed to be back in April. And it's the one year anniversary of my back surgery/my brother's passing. :(

Gonna go find a snack and a second adult beverage and unwind.

Sleep sweet.
