Good morning gang. I drove an hour and a half yesterday listening to Slack Tide. That wasn't in my head last night when I woke at three AM. It was the Newhart Show theme. I'm watching the show on youtube. That theme is easy on the ears and mind.

Good morning. The hockey season starts today.

Red Wings open with home games vs Carolina tomorrow & Saturday. I see that's the M.O. for the NHL to cut down on travel.
Play 2 with the same 2 in the same city. Actually kind of like that. Reminds me of the Minor League Hockey days when teams would either bus in for a pair or if the city was nearby you'd go home & home on back to back nights.

I've never watched hockey, I think it's a good time to start. We have a local team, minor league.

They're only playing within divisions this year, 8 games against each opponent. Eight Islanders-Rangers games, that should be fun. I'm sure there are other big rivalries too.

And from FB - several people knew him, but I did not. "Slpless Knight" (Wes) has passed away. From what I'm reading, sounds like Covid related.

Wes was a great guy. He always dressed as a pirate at tailgate parties and he always had rum. Good rum. I used to see him at the Frisco show every year. I'm sorry I haven't been to Texas since 2015.
