Phin power for Conolulu

Hey everyone, I'm not sure if there is already a thread about this (I haven't been here as much as I used to be) but for anyone who has been here a while you may know or be familiar with Conolulu. She was one of the original BNer's from back in the day.

Long story short, in January she was diagnosed with Stage 4 lung cancer. Unfortunately the treatments have not been effective and yesterday she made the decision to stop treatment and enter hospice care. I'm sorry for how abrupt this may be coming across, and it may be a shock for those of you who remember her but haven't spoken to her in a while. I have her daughter's contact information and she will keep me up to date on what's happening, and I will relay that information here as I get it.

Once again, I'm sorry to have to be the messenger of bad news, but I know how important this website is to her. It was how her and I first met, and where she has made literally hundreds of friends from around the world, and I just wanted to be sure as many of those friends as possible knew her situation.

Thanks for posting this, Jack. I was just thinking the same thing. Some folks on BN aren't on FB, so they wouldn't know.

Some friends are friends from childhood. Some are from high school or college. Some friends know you better than you know yourself and in my case, my best friend ...I married. But some friends are friends through an inexplicable bond through a screen and a keyboard. Though, having never met, in person, they get to know you and you get to know them. Despite the fact, that time and distance never allowed that face to face meeting, the synergy of friendship grew. Now that earthly time may be coming to an end. While my heart may be saddened by the loss, I will always be thankful for my gain. Connie, in the coming days, I will hold my wife, and my daughters and I will silently think of you and your complete and total kindness. I will think of you and your Dad. Your son, Laura and of course that beautiful little Grandma's girl. Despite all the sadness I may feel, I know in my heart, you have had a wonderfilled ride.

Thanks Jack for posting it here too. I met Connie in person in 2006( she says it was earlier) , but over the years we shared many of laughs ( Orlando Denny's sticks out , Barry and Jason will know that story) also , she surprised a couple of years ago with a Autographed Calendar and picture from The Miami Dolphin Cheerleaders ( She kept teasing me on what was being sent) which I still have hanging with all my autographs...she's a fighter and continued prayers being send from CT
