Good morning Linda and BN. It's a strawberry waffle day for me. I have loose dieting goals.
Enjoy your day, pholks.

G'morning, Linda and Bill! Not much to update so far. Good that it's Friday, but it's not a payday for me.

I'm not sure I could do a budget on a once a month payday....unless you get some retirement $$ in there?

Re: FINALLY FRIDAY @ THE MSC
I haven't started taking any money from my retirement accounts yet. I do get a quarterly dividend check from BNY Mellon. My first job after college was at the Bank of New York (now BNY Mellon) and they had an employee stock purchase program. When I left the bank in 1984, I switched to the dividend reinvestment program. About 5 or 6 years ago I chose to start getting a quarterly check instead of reinvesting my dividends. After 25+ years of reinvested dividends and 5 stocks splits, I had almost 6,000 shares. I sold some of it to help pay for my condo (no mortgage), I'm down to 2,900 shares now and I get dividend checks in February, May, August and November.

Buffett's in Las Vegas Oct. 20. I just found out Willie Nelson is doing 2 shows in Vegas in October, the 19th & 20th. Willie on Friday, Buffett on Saturday, depending on next season's NHL schedule maybe a Golden Knights game, plus several trips to the Yard House. That could be an interesting few days.

Another grey and drizzly day in the Upper LH Corner, but for some variety there are big, wet, slushy snow flakes mixed in.
I know the voices in my head aren’t real, but sometimes they have really good ideas…..

Another interview in the books. This one was downtown Denver. Hard to tell how it went, but they were nice people.
The one I think I wanted the most? They called while I was driving and said they went with someone else. At least the called, and were VERY sincere in their tone that they were sorry, but thank you for taking the time to come in.
Another in person interview with another company is on Monday.
This is getting old..

Re: FINALLY FRIDAY @ THE MSC
Turned out to be a pretty nice day, even if it was a little cool and breezy. I went for a walk on the boardwalk then stopped for a beer and a slice of pizza.
When I was going back to my car, I saw 2 a-holes riding mopeds on Ocean Blvd. Riding mopeds by itself isn't what made them a-holes, trying to do wheelies was. They weren't wearing helmets. Too bad they didn't fall off and hit their heads, the gene pool needs an occasional cleansing.

Re: FINALLY FRIDAY @ THE MSC
Had a moped when I was a teenager. Saved up all my babysitting money to buy it, they were cool in the 70s. Three weeks after I got it my dad wanted to try taking it to his job. He was legally blind and could not drive but for some reason thought he could manage the moped. The job was three miles away. Fifteen minutes go by - nothing. Thirty minutes go by, kitchen phone rings. Older brother comes out the door and hops in his panel pick up to go get him. My dad had crashed it into a Jersey barrier, completely mangled it (cuts and bruises for him). We had the moped repaired but it was never the same after that.LIPH wrote: ↑March 23, 2018 5:26 pm Turned out to be a pretty nice day, even if it was a little cool and breezy. Re: FINALLY FRIDAY @ THE MSC
There are several places in the more touristy parts of town that rent mopeds, but I see locals riding them all the time. The only thing I don't like is when I see them on the main roads, like Hwy 17. The speed limit is 55, I don't think a moped can make it up to 55 unless it's being towed by a real vehicle.
