High five! I love a real tree because of the smell. It's just too much of a p.i.t.a. to decorate & water to deal with. I went to a local farm & cut down a live tree the 1st 2yrs we were in the house but then gave up.
We keep our lights off for Halloween too although I have gone to my mom's to hand out 'airplane' bottles to the adults...that was fun!
