Wow! A new stadium for Chicago. Kinda glad after seeing him in Tinley about 15 times. 3 shows in a week counting Alpine. That's a lot of fun in a very short time!

I think a lot of us are reserving any excitement about the new venue until we get there and see how it works for a Buffett concert.

Three concerts in a week is great, but getting tickets won't be as much fun with them all on sale at the same time.

Sure hope this all works out for all of us!!!

So where does he play on the Tuesday in-between? Indy? Cincy? Detroit?

I have other commitments from July 18-24 ... way up in the mountains of British Columbia... and on July 26-27 back home, so Chicago will not be possible for me.
Jimmy, didn't you get my schedule for the summer?

I heard Toyota Park is a soccer/lacrosse stadium with some sort of permanent stage built on one of the ends specifically for concerts. Looks like they have seating plans for both assigned eating on the field, as well as GA (Which for us lawn-lovers, would probably be our preference!). From their web site...

Tailgating
Tailgating is permitted as long as it conducted in a safe and respectable manner and activities comply with proper fan decorum. Please adhere to the following policies as it relates to tailgating:

No glass bottles
Dispose of charcoal in Hot Coals Only bins
No ball playing or Frisbee throwing
Please set your grills, coolers, etc. in front of or behind your vehicle
Tailgating set-up must not interfere with free flow of traffic
No kegs or bulk quantities of alcohol
Outside food and beverage is not permitted inside the stadium
One car = One space
Please bag and properly dispose of your trash
Outside caterers not permitted
Sale of food/beverage is not permitted
No open flames
Only visiting this planet...

Toyota Park in Chicago just doesnt look like it would be as much fun as an amphitheater. No lawn. No hill. Without a hill, it's just too hard to see and it just seems too much like a stadium show (but on a smaller scale). I guess I'll hold out for Cincy and/or East Troy instead and since I've never been to Alpine........

Does anyone know if the seats in the stands are actual seats or benches? From the photos I've been able to get they look like benches, but I've been known to be wrong before. :P

Yup, Toyota Park is where the Chicago Fire play their home games.

According to their description of the stadium it holds 28,000 in seats for concerts.

Never been there, but my brother said it's a nice place to watch a football (er, soccer) game.

What happened to Alpine Valley Show?

Post by philip2021 »

The Live Nation site is no longer reporting a July 19th show at Alpine Valley (it was there this morning). Does anyone have any ideas about what might have happened?

Thanks,
Phil

They probably made a mistake on posting it too early before the tour was anno8unced. It will be back next week with more dates announced
