Year of Still Here Tour Continues in Alpine Valley

Post by phjim »

Jimmy Buffett and the Coral Reefer band performed last night at the Alpine Valley Music Theatre in East Troy, WI. It was Buffett's 15th appearance at the venue going back 20 years ago to June 1988.

Greg "Fingers" Taylor was a special guest for the show and he joined in on a few songs including "Son of a Son of a Sailor", "A Pirate Looks at Forty", and "Fins". He also performed right after intermission on the song "Hey, Bo Diddley" (with the Juke Joint Duo).

The Set List from the show had a couple of changes including "Stars On The Water" (last played on Sept 5th, 2007 in Toronto) and "Distantly In Love" was (last played on March 24, 2007 in Anquilla).

According to the printed setlist (balcony girls and I both got a copy! wooo hoooo! as did Lurker Larry, CindyB's husband!) the Juke Joint Duo song is listed as:

"Skinny Woman (Fingers, Cedric, and Malcolm)"

Wow, great picture!

Were you the people in the front row that seemed to be causing Jimmy to break up laughing?

I was listening to a Joe Bennett CD this morning as I did some cleaning up, and I heard his song about "I'm still here" (I may not be all there, but I'm still here).... do you suppose Jimmy was inspired by little Joe?

:D :D I'm happy to report, we definitely had a little something to do with it!  And there was a moment, that I'm still laughing about, that had many in the band bent over with laughter!!! [smilie=battingeyes.gif] Jimmy made mention of it, as posted in Sunlover's extended band introductions! 8) 8)

Jimmy was definitely having a good time last night... they all were... WE all were!! :D

And ya know, I know I'll be close, and bring a camera, and I never take it out of the bag. So last night, we left them in the bus. What happens, I dig out my phone to take them.  :-? Not near the quality they could have been, but here they are...

And how do you get front row, dead center, you might wonder? We paid face, with no TM fees... and we've said our blessings for the karma that cast upon us yesterday!! Amen! :D

And one last cool tidbit of irony... the 3 girls in the seats right next to me? Two of them were a year younger than me... I knew all through grade school, high school, and one of 'em college. We played volleyball, softball, and basketball together all thur school, and on vball and sball league teams for years in our 20's and early 30's.

So Lynn and Bit, if you happen to read this - it was nice seeing ya again! :D
