Tickets
It seems like you need to get information and get as much information on ticket exchangers as possible. If they belong to our organization they can be trusted...if not your kinda on your own. Usually people have track records and they can be linked or tracked down. I have been lucky on both sides, but I had all the information requested to include home phone and work. Good Luck

I set up a trade for a for the Austin City Limits DVD and he sent me a DVD that wouldn't work in any DVD player I have. When I asked him for another copy (because I sent him 4 or 5 concerts for the DVD), he told me he would and then never fulfilled that promise. Emails I've sent to him since then have not been replied to.

how long to wait to skip someone on a vine?
What does everyone think is an appropriate time to wait before you skip over someone to continue a vine? How long should you give someone to respond with their address? I think that three or four days is sufficient to receive, reburn and resend a show. I' m just curious how long I should wait.

I think if someone doesn't respond and send you their address within a week you should make a note of this on the vine thread and move on to the next person on the list.gregdemp wrote:What does everyone think is an appropriate time to wait before you skip over someone to continue a vine? Find it kind of hard to believe that the DVD didn't work in his player or computer. Tried the dvd twice before i sent it in a 2-3 year old player and a brand new player and it played with no problems. It seems rather odd too me.Ilph wrote:lostshakerofsalt

I'm not the only one who's had problems with this person. But it's not my place to name other people. If they want to speak up, that's up to them.lostshakerofsalt wrote:Find it kind of hard to believe that the DVD didn't work in his player or computer. DVD's are a pain. There is no set format that will play on every DVD player. I burn over 100 DVD's every year for a boat club I belong to. I have a list of what to send each member be it +R, or -R. Sometimes the manufacture of disks will make a difference. I hope they get things straight when they come out with HD DVD's.lostshakerofsalt wrote:Find it kind of hard to believe that the DVD didn't work in his player or computer. I'm not saying that they're not hard to make. But replying to my PMs when I ask about them isn't hard, either.Candyman wrote:DVD's are a pain. If you are talking about PMs with me, there were none there. From what I can remember of it, it was all done through email. No offense, but if it wasn't you, then you have no place talking about what transpired, and if it is you, then just come out an say it and email me and let's see if we can get this thing all worked out. I have traded with other people on this site and you seem to be the only one that has problems.Ilph wrote:I'm not saying that they're not hard to make. It was me. I never said it wasn't. Go back to my original post where I name you. It says:lostshakerofsalt wrote:If you are talking about PMs with me, there were none there. I said other people have told me that they have had problems with you, and like you said, I don't have any room to talk about it, so I didn't mention names.
And I've already tried contacting you. Nothing came of it, which is why I put your name on this list.
I got screwed, I learned a lesson. Done deal.

One last thing then I'm putting this to rest. You had said other people told you that they had problems with me. I don't know who these other people are that supposedly have had problems with me, but since there are only 2 people I have done anything with on this site, you and asuwookie, I find that hard to believe.Ilph wrote:I said other people have told me that they have had problems with you, and like you said, I don't have any room to talk about it, so I didn't mention names.
If you want to get this whole situation resolved, send me a message and we'll work something out. I'm not out to screw anyone over.

Hey PHs....I am relatively new to this web site having only checked it out a few times but never really in depth until after attending the Cincy show the other night. I was 14th row and didn't even notice Fingers on Margaritaville. Anyway....I hate to sound so stupid, but what is all of this talk of trades, threads. silky. I assume you guys are trading files of different shows, songs, etc. Do I have to have something to trade in order to get a copy of the Cincy show (or others)? What if I don't really have anything to offer? I got some not so rare songs from odd albums (like Attitude of Gratitude, Mr. Spaceman - with Kermit, Ass & the Hole - with Mac) but I'm sure you guys have all that stuff already.
What's a vine and silky mean?
Thanks for anyones help - pardon the ignorance.

I truly despise a Parrothead in disguise who isn't worth his or her salt & runs off with the loot. I'm so sorry this happened to you, so Sail on Sailor...keep on Rockin' the Boat Mate! I can't believe another Parrothead wouldn't hold up their end of the bargain & deliver the Margaritaville cargo on time ! FINZ UP!!!

Re: Vines..trades...threads
If you'll jump on over to the concert trading forum there is a vine going for the Cincinnati show. Basically some kind soul with knowledge and eqquipment records the show, tracks it and sends a "seed" to the first person to sign up. The first person makes their copy and sends the original to the next person on the list and so forth.Cincy'sOwnDrunk wrote:Hey PHs....I am relatively new to this web site having only checked it out a few times but never really in depth until after attending the Cincy show the other night.
