The reason I asked is they aren't anything special with the exception of the turbo which is one hell of a truck. But that's the big problem I have with them. It's a truck, not a 911. I wish people would make up thier minds...Do you want a truck or a sports car??? These are fun too, but I wouldn't want one...I'd be happy to take an order from anyone that wants one though.RinglingRingling wrote:No, nor would I. Certain product lines just draw my derision. Lexus/Mercedes/Cadillac SUVs are show, not work vehicles. and an SUV is a work vehicle in the world I came from.NYCPORT wrote:Have you ever driven one?RinglingRingling wrote:this, is just stupid. Kinda like slapping a Caddy badge and price tag on a Silverado/Suburban and calling it an SUV.NYCPORT wrote:Before you buy one do the math. Many Hybrids cost so much more it would take you years and years to recoup the cost difference in the car.
The Lexus SUV is the best example. Gas would need to cost $23 a gallon or you would need to keep the truck for 10 years just to make up the difference in cost between the hybrid and the regular model.
The only one of the upscale brand SUVs that is remotely worth the price is the Porsche Cayenne, and even then... is it really necessary to have an SUV that can do 150 mph?

Conventional fuel vehicles (compact types like a honda civic) actually get better gas mileage than a hybrid on long drives. The hybrids do much better in stop-and-go traffic because they shut the gas part of the engine off at a stop. You can see this in the EPA fuel ratings; for a hybrid the rating is usually much better for city than for highway, the opposite of a 'normal' vehicle.

There are some really low-slung "crotchrocket" bikes on the market that come up to Shane's shoulder..buffettbride wrote:Isn't being taller than the bike a prerequisite?nycparrothead wrote:It's a possiblity... I don't know about SC but here in Cali "Clean Air Vehicles" like hybrids can drive in the car pool lane. I don't know if this would help your commute in SC.
There are several Hybrids here at my work (along with members of the Green Party) People seem to like them but I've got to wonder what it is going to cost when the battery needs replacing not to mention the environmental cost of disposing of the battery. Also they are only worth thier salt in city and stop and go traffic. Freeway driving doesn't give you any advantage over any other good mileage car.
My co-worker bought a Honda Del Sol that gets 40 MPG and is a T-Top!
So I would suggest a Del Sol, a sporty, reliable (Honda) convertible with great gas mileage!
Auto-Trader in SC has Del Sols for an average of $6K

would buying a Del Sol require him to leave his testicles at home whenever he drove itThe_Polly_Roger wrote:I don't know about SC but here in Cali "Clean Air Vehicles" like hybrids can drive in the car pool lane. I don't know if this would help your commute in SC.

Harley makes a bike that will work for you - it's a 24.5 inch high seat. I want one sooo bad.
