1. George Brett ( by a huge margin)
2. Bret Saberhagen
3. frank white

5. Mike Sweeney

I'm admitting i'm not an expert on the royals so i may have left somebody out....
Yeah, Brett blows everyone right out of the water. But I don't think Sweeney could make the top 100 Royals now.

A lot of good players spent a few days in Kansas City, but I'd have to say most likely for long time Royals, Hal McRae, Willie Wilson, or Dan Quisenberry would replace Sweeney in the top 5.

Lou Piniella
Amos Otis
Paul Splittorff
Vida Blue
Kevin Seitzer
Orlando Cepeda
Harmon Killebrew
Gaylord Perry
Juan Gonzalez
Reggie Sander
Benito Santiago
Danny Tartabull

Of course the top players Kansas City let get away.
1. Johnny Damon
2. Jermaine Dye
3. Carlos Beltran

Those were the teams that tied me to baseball for life. We used to spend summers with my grandparents in Michigan, and my grandmother (who had seen Ty Cobb play at Tiger stadium when she was young :o ) had the games on the radio every night.

Whitey Ford played his entire career with the Yankees. (and his high school career with 2 of my uncles)

AGREED!
Change mine to read #1 as Ken Griffey Jr., and #1a to read Edgar Martinez. :D
Edgar ALSO has to be on that list somewhere-not only a great player, but a true gentleman and a dynamite human being.
I'd still want him on MY team today.
