Jerry Lewis said what?

Good luck to Jerry Lewis trying to get out of this one. Listen to the gasp from the audience and Lewis looking like he knows he just made a major mistake.

There are two words that I completely take out of my vocabulary so there will never be a chance of using it.....that is one of them....

I respect what he's done for the MDA, but I've never been a fan otherwise....

I met him years ago and he was very nasty to kids waiting for his autograph. I heard that he had issues and had conquered his demons. That being said, I think his lack of sleep increased his lack of judgement.

"This video has expired" is what I get when I try to view it. Can someone give me the BN Cliff's notes **** version? I did see "Jerry Lewis drops the 'F' bomb."

Was that it?

He used a derogatory and demeaning word for a gay person.

Just lovely. Tired or not, that's like having an excuse for using the "N" word.

However, in the spirit of Will and Grace, that derogatory and demeaning word for a gay person was used quite a bit on that show if I recall.

Just tried it and the video worked for me.

Some people make me sick. If they are going to make a big deal out of what Don Imus said, they should make an equally big deal out of this.

Maybe MDA will start looking for a new host for the telethon, I personally think it was time for him to go a long time ago.

I thought this was about him ranting about how Merv Griffin
"deserved to die"... I guess the man and his mouth aren't exactly PC.

Saw him out and about in Vegas and he is NOT a nice person to his fans ... rather nasty, as I remember ...

I thought he called somene fat instead of a fag ...... must have not been listening to the YouTube replay very well ....

Upon second hearing ... he does say "the illiterate fag" ... what a creepy thing to say.

He has always been a ba$tard. Have heard a few stories of how miserable he could be dealing with people he saw as peons.

As an aside, the character he played on a segment of "Wiseguy" back in the late 80s/early 90s always seemed like he wasn't really acting, just letting his real persona out to play.

I don't necessarily consider the term fag as negative - it kinda depends on when and how it's used.

Some of my oldest and dearest friends are gay and I've had them say "you're just a fag hag from way back" and it's not offensive. I'll be the first to admit I was a "fag hag" - in the sense I loved to go to the gay bars and dance and had tons of gay friends back in the days.

It's kinda like the N word - Richard Pryor could use it and I'd pee my pants laughing. But had George Carlin used it I would have been offended.

That being said I think Jerry is now just a grumpy old bitter man trying to still be funny and not quite grasping the fact he's not. He probably told that joke amongst a bunch of old drunk cronies and they laughed their butts off
Well...(said in my best Bubba voice) I've been on sabbatical.

Despite what he's done for MDA, I have no respect for him. He's a mean, nasty person.

Thirty years ago he played golf at a country club where I used to work. He was downright *nasty* to the staff.... They say if you want to the know the true character of a person, pay attention to how they treat their waiter (and by extension, any other service personnel)....

Don't forget, Jerry, "What goes around, comes around."
