Prayers for everyone involved would be nice , of course...these boys can't ALL be that bad...but the ones who are...ARE!

Yep, Citcat, it's in Memphis...In the "bad" part of town. (not that every large city doesn't have a bad part...)

Our Sheriff has spoken to the Sheriff there and lots of patrol will be out.

I just want them to have a great game, (to win!) but to come home safe.

Yes, Memphis is a TERRIBLE city-that's why I left there after living there for six years.

Maybe somebody important in Henry county could do something...write the coach, principal, etc. of the opposing team or enlist the help of the TSSAA (it's their JOB). There's just no reason why high school kids should have to worry about their safety OFF the field, even though it might just be a 'mind game' that team in Memphis enjoys playing. Have parents with lots of cameras surrounding their kids, have a convoy of cars escort the buses, park them at the game so the buses could have a fast getaway. There's GOT to be a way to ease everybody's fears. Preparation never hurts. I remember when Ryan's team played Lake County (we had jokes about them letting the inmates at the prison there play on the football team because they were so big and MEAN !). Here's hoping everything goes well. GO #72 !!!!!!!!

Tonight's the night. And...on top of the threats and the game, it's going to be 18-20 degrees with a "light wind"...hopefully it will be VERY LIGHT! Man that's cold. Jim has packed his white thermal underwear for under his uniform and I picked up a pack of Hot Hands (WONDERFUL THINGS!!) so he can avoid being totally frozen.

Thanks for all the prayers and words of concern. He will be fine and I know that but the Mom in me is still wringing her hands. There are a lot of officers going (His Daddy included) and Memphis is prepared from what I understand. I pray we win, one gets hurt at all and My Jim (and James) get home before 2am.

Unfortunatley, I will be working until 9pm. Damn retail job!

BUT IT'S A JOB and that's more than many pholks so I'm not bitchin'.

All I can say is God, please watch over my baby boy and all his team mates, the other team, all the fans, coaches, refs and well, anyone at Melrose tonight. Bring my son home safe, unhurt with a winning smile (enphasis on WINning). Amen.

OMG!! THEY WON!!! 28 to 26! My Boys won!! I think I'm gonna cry!!! Now, get on that bus (buses) keep your mouths SHUT and come home!! They blocked a field goal attempt. Then they stopped a 2 point conversion!! Then they intercepted the ball and ran the clock out (all 12 seconds!!)

MY WINNING TEAM FOR THE TAASS for WEST TN...THE HENRY COUNTY PATRIOTS!!!

Now, next Friday we go to Nashville (not NEAR as SCRAY!) and after (not WHEN but AFTER!) we go to Murphreesboro for the State Championship game on December 6th, two days before my birthday!!!! Wonder who we play???

And, if they never win another game...I couldn't be more proud of these kids. Number 72!!! You'll ALWAYS be my 6 pound. black haired baby boy!!!

Hubby called...there was a lot of tension afterwards on the field but our boys are on the buses and headed home...safely. MAN AM I PROUD!
And in 3 hours, Jim will be home, warm and SAFE! But I think I can head to bed now!
