Dish Network to take control of Sirius/XM?

Post by Bfan53again »

Echostar and its affiliate, Dish Network, may be considering taking control of Sirius/XM satellite radio:

Could this be a way out of the debt problems facing Sirius/XM in 2009?

I guess that means we'll never have Radio Margaritaville on DirecTV then..... :-?

At this point I just hope something takes over Sirius/XM to keep it operatiional........

For those of us living in more rural areas it is a great service that brings much needed variety. I can't stand the thought of Radio Margaritaville being limited to the internet again..... :o

Although it is comforting to know that RM has that option if all else fails.......

With their stock being at 10 cents a share, anyone with $100 bucks can take control.

I liked RadioMargaritaville on the internet. Sounded a lot less like regular radio. If I wanted to hear the current stuff on Radio Margaritaville, I would listen to free radio.
If you want an experience, go to a Jimmy Buffett concert.

Experience is something you don't get until just after you need it.

Why would that matter? They can always ask our government for a "bailout"

Sirius stock is up 70% today. Of course it was only going for a dime/share so it's all the way up to $0.18 now. I lost my shorts on the freakin' stock, thought it was a good idea to bail before they went Chapter 11 and I lost everything.

I heard on the news that LIBERTY MEDIA has invested in Sirius/XM and that the investment should keep Dish Network from trying to take them over.

That's the news I resurrected this thread with

Liberty Media (parent of DirecTV) rescues Sirius XM from Bankruptcy (and a Dish takeover, for now).
