New Front Man for Queen?

Post by blackjack »

Adam Lambert has received interest from Queen members to be the new lead singer.

He would be great with them.

No one could EVER replace Freddie Mercury...but...I do think Adam Lambert would do well with them. Freddie could pull off the flamboyant and dramatic style effortlessly and he could always have the crowd eating from the palm of his hands. The screaming Adam did grated on my nerves most of the time....but I think with a little more practice he can hone in the skill to pull off a tour of sorts with the remaining members of Queen.

Back to the finale....Brian May is still a GOD when it comes to playing the guitar! Love, Love, Love him!!!!!

I could totally see it! What was it someone said? Adam's the only one who can fill Freddie's jockstrap, or something like that?

I don't think it will happen. Chris Daughtry was offered to front Fuel and he turned it down. That worked out better for him.

That's a tough question because, honestly, how do you say no to being in Queen?" said Lambert, sporting his trademark dark nail polish and blue-streaked hair. "I mean, that's unbelievable. But at the same time, I do have my own thing to do right now, and that's my goal. So if I could, I would try to do both. That's the honest question. I would try to do both. I would love to perform with them anytime they wanted me to but I also have my record to do. So, we'll see."
wow.. really tough decision. given that most AI winners are doing what? oh yeah, playing the State Fair Circuit in Nebraska and Kansas and other, smaller joints.

Just a side note, read somewhere that a Freddie Mercury biopic is in the planning stages and they want Johnny Depp to play him. I think he could pull it off, he'd be great.
You only have two options - havin' fun or freakin' out...

it would be better than the Biography exam they had of him a while back. His school friend was a ham, and not in a good way.

Paul Rodgers, in my opinion, is one of the great rock singers of all time. More people probably know him from Queen than Free, and that's a crime.

I saw Paul Rodgers in his first teaming with Jimmy Page in '83 at the Ronnie Lane ARMS benefit in L.A.

Paige....I agree with you 100%. Once we lost Freddie Mercury we lost Queen.

There will never be another Freddie....but....I would really like to hear Adam sing a few songs with Brian and Roger.

I'm not sure if that would be the best move for Adam. He probably wants to get out on his own, make his own music his way. A one-time performance with Queen would be great and they would probably LOVE to have him, but I don't see him touring with them. In fact, that's kind of icky and not a great use of his talent. Freddy was a one-of-a-kind, tremendous talent.
