PALMYRA - A nude man wearing only a black ski mask entered the Turkey Hill along the 100 block of West Main Street just after 2 a.m. Sunday, police said.

The man did not say anything but quickly left the store when he realized the clerk was calling the police.

The suspect is described as a heavy set white male, about six feet tall and weighing about 200 pounds.

Police said the man had no visible scars, tattoos or body piercings.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call police at 717-838-8188 or 717-838-8189.

Please note: "about 200 pounds", "no visible scars", eliminates me as suspect. :pirate:
you were worried it could have been?
What is a "Turkey Hill" that would be open at 2am and a masked nudie would feel comfortable walking into? :o Is that like a convenience store?
Yep that's exactly what it is. About 270 of them in around PA, Ohio, and Indiana.
Famous for their ice cream and iced tea. :pirate:

In CMH, they are affliliated with grocery stores that don't have the room to put in a couple islands of pumps for their gas points promos. One in Upper Arlington is affiliated with either Kroger or Giant Eagle, think it is the latter.

and John... something tells me you know how to have a lot of fun.. :D
You have no idea -- and he is alot of fun to be around and even more so when you throw a brother or 2 or 3 into the mix!

Police assisted a Norton Terrace woman on Sunday morning after she reported seeing somebody who’d been dead for a decade.

According to the incident log, an officer responded to the woman’s address at 10:45 a.m. to conduct a well-being check after she reported “seeing people from Oldies & Goodies.”

The woman told police that she had seen her favorite DJ on television while she was watching her favorite music channel — the problem being that the DJ had been dead for more than 10 years.

The woman “could not understand how he could now be on television,” police wrote.

An officer wrote: “She was advised about reruns.”

Alleged shoplifter arrested wearing cherry-tomato bikini

SEATTLE -- A chronic shoplifter in a wheelchair was arrested at a Capitol Hill QFC last Friday with only a pile of cherry tomatoes covering his crotch, according to the Seattle Police Department.

Officers were called to the store in the 1400 block of Broadway shortly after 6:20 a.m. for reports of a man causing a disturbance inside.

Officers found the suspect in the produce aisle, where he was sitting in his wheelchair eating from a container of cherry tomatoes, according to the police report for the incident.

According to the report, the cherry tomatoes were strewn about the floor, which is where the man's pants were also located. The only thing covering the man's crotch were spilled tomatoes, according to the report.

The man was arrested and transported to King County Jail for investigation of burglary. The only thing found on him during a search was most of a still-frozen Jimmy Dean sausage sandwich.

Officers have had many previous run-ins with the man, who was previously trespassed from the Broadway QFC for allegedly stealing two bottles of vodka March 31.

During that arrest, the man made numerous off-color comments to officers and was concealing narcotics and a pipe, according to the police report for that incident.

During his April 12 arrest, the man told officers he knew he was not allowed in the store and came in anyway with the intent to commit a crime, according to the report.

PEARLAND, Texas—Chef Ronnie Killen of Killen’s Steakhouse in Pearland says thieves stole a 15-pound brisket right off his outdoor pit. The chef says whoever took it put more wood on the fire.

It happened while the chef went inside the restaurant.

Chef Killen is taking it all in stride by making light of it on Facebook.

“Hope they enjoyed it and helped feed their hunger,” he posted.

A woman allegedly stabbed a man to death with her stiletto heel early Sunday morning.

Houston police got an "assault in progress" call at 4 a.m. from Parklane apartment highrise on 1701 Hermann in the Museum District.

Upon the officer's arrival, a woman opened the door and a 59-year-old man was lying on the floor, who was apparently stabbed several times.

The woman, whose identity has not yet been released, has a pending charge of murder.

Police say they will release the identity of the deceased once a family member is notified.

Not really "police blotter," but it's what's happening where I live....

“The pig farmer has been feeding them marijuana for the last two and a half months of their life and they've been happy as hell...”
"The pot pigs grow to be extra fat and really happy according to the farmer..."

Jesse tries BB Ranch's pot-fed pork
by JESSE JONES / KING 5 News

It’s a different kind of head shop found just down the stairs from the Pike Place market.

It’s the BB Ranch selling something that’s even better than bacon. It’s marijuana fed pork.

“The pig farmer has been feeding them marijuana for the last two and a half months of their life and they've been happy as hell,” said William Von Schneidau, owner of the butcher shop.

This is all thanks the voters of Washington who legalized marijuana in the last election. That’s when Von Schneidau saw the opportunity wasn’t just blowing smoke.

“And then all of a sudden marijuana, you know, became legal a few months ago and somehow, I don’t know how, I met the commercial growers and they needed to get rid of some of their stuff. So rather than going into the compost pile we said, 'Lets try it out.' So here we go,” said he said.

The pigs are raised in a farm about an hour outside of Seattle. In fact, these pigs are on the rock star diet. The mix contains drugs and alcohol, the booze coming by way of the spent grains from Woodinville's Project V Vodka.

The pot pigs grow to be extra fat and really happy according to the farmer who wants to be anonymous.

Here's the tough part of the story. The pigs love eating weed, and what gives me pleasure is BBQ pork.

So I brought some pot pork belly to my buddy Steve Freeman at Celtic Cowboy BBQ in Edmonds. And we decided to smoke it.

Steve rubbed the belly, which is basically the part that bacon comes from, with spices and tossed it into the smoker for about 45 minuets. He then seared it on a skillet.

Steve says the results are stunning.

“That’s some pretty happy pork right there. He's done a good job with that. I really like that," he said.

And that takes us back to the happiest farm in Washington. Yes, the pigs will become BBQ one day.

But if you gotta go, why not go out on a high.

Not where I live but in North Charleston, SC. Sort of reminds me of the "Margaritaville" incident a few years ago where someone actually died. This time, it was the Eagles that sent someone over the edge. It should come as no surprise that alcohol was involved.

BATMAN GOES ROBBIN'

Local business owner steals blind customer's $225,000 mandolin
Image

A local business owner confessed to stealing a rare mandolin appraised at more than $200,000 from an elderly woman while working inside her La Crosse house, according to police reports.

Wisconsin Bat Specialists Inc. owner Michael Bakke, 62, took the instrument in early June while searching the 87-year-old blind woman’s house for bats.  He contacted Heritage Auctions in Texas to list the item he hoped would fetch $5,000.  However, a 2009 appraisal had valued the mandolin constructed in 1923 by Lloyd Loar, the head engineer of Gibson, at $225,000.  “That’s what makes it so valuable,” said Isaiah Evans, director of vintage guitars and musical instruments at Heritage Auctions.  Evans estimates there are only 250 nationwide, though he believes they are worth about $150,000 in the current market.

Police began investigating the theft Sunday (Aug. 4th) when the woman discovered the instrument missing from an upstairs bedroom closet.  She had no suspects other than Bakke, who turned himself in to police the next day.  Bakke told investigators he met with the victim in June to catch a bat living in her house and said he “felt sorry” for her when he learned she was legally blind and living alone in a dwelling in need of repair, reports stated.  The woman asked him to help locate the mandolin in the closet, and Bakke claimed he couldn’t.  Instead, he set it next to a window that he unlocked, propped a ladder outside and took it, according to reports.

Bakke told investigators he planned to sell the instrument as a “surprise” to help improve the woman’s living conditions, reports stated.  He realized he made a “huge mistake” when Heritage Auctions offered him a $43,000 down payment.  Bakke denied coming forward to police because the woman reported the instrument stolen.
(my personal opinion of his "feeling sorry for her" story and subsequent denial of why he turned himself in — 110% pure bullsh*t)

Police arrested Bakke, of Sparta, on Wednesday for felony theft and released him on a signature bond.  He will appear Sept. 2 in La Crosse County Circuit Court.  “Michael was extremely cooperative during this incident and apologized several times for his mistakes,” investigators noted.  “Michael stated he accepts responsibly for his actions.”  Police and Heritage Auctions are working to return the mandolin.
