hahaha. Thankfully but annoyingly and begrudgingly we evacuated. We have had stronger thunder storms. It was actually much worst every where my family and friends fled to.

We didn't even take any precautions here in Michigan, and we paid the price for that.
My wife is pretty upset, but she'll feel better this afternoon when the insurance adjuster stops by with our check.

haha. There are streets where one side was required to evacuate and the other wasn't. You could just walk across the street, sit on your neighbors porch and wave to Irene as she passed.

With any luck Snooki and the rest of the a-holes from Jersey Shore were among the trash that got blown out to sea.

Funny you say that, I had a neighbor drive through our yard a couple weeks ago barely missing our house and crashing into a tree just off our property. My wife was all p*** at the guy until I talked to the insurance company on Monday and they let me know we'll be getting over $1,100 to replace the grass that was already dead, a $4 sprinkler and a flagpole we didn't like anyway and a couple of $15 azaleas. Wish that would happen more often.

Some photos on my Facebook for your amusement.

:o And how did that happen? I'd love to hear his explanation. You dodged a bullet there.

Unofficial explanation is that the accelerator got stuck. He was sober so it was just an unfortunate accident. If you look at the other photos, the damage to my neighbors' cars was worse. I got real lucky. He missed our car and the house and most importantly, our kids. My sprinkler and flagpole took the brunt of it.

My best friend had that happen while he was away on his honeymoon. Driver crossed 4 lanes of traffic, jumped the curb, went through bushes and the lawn to crash into the house, breaking a window and moving an outside wall about 2 feet. Very fortunate that is wasn't a few days early as his mother would have been sleeping very near the wall that was pushed in.

This guy didn't hit our house but drove a car between that tree and our house which is only about 9 feet wide. He was turning as he went through that gap and was going fast enough to do some notable damage when he hit the tree. We weren't home but got home just a few minutes later.
