got invited to a 90s themed party
to be honest. I stink at this type of thing. I want to dress the part but am having idea issues
my only thought is to get a t-shirt from a 90s band that I like (or maybe one that I saw)
jeans and a pair of Chucks
any other ideas? it would be nice if I could wear the clothes later
An 1890s Party? Awesome!
I assume the 1890s, because the 1990s were like .... yesterday.
Me? I'd show up in 1890s style with a handlebar mustache
and feign amazement that anyone else was nostalgic about a 1990s decade less than 14 years over.
Wikipedia:The 1890s were sometimes referred to the "Gay Nineties",
under the then-current usage of the word "gay" which referred simply to merriment and frivolity.
From what I remember.... 90s..... Consisted of a lot of jeans mostly black. Usually a black t-shirt usually GNR, Metallica, Megadeth, or Iron Maiden. And a Flannel shirt with a pack of Marlboro's in the pocket.
Did you hear the one about me being a punk?
Did you hear the one about me being a drunk?
Did you hear the one about me losing my nerve?
Or how I'm just another f**** sheep in the herd?
Did you hear the one about me giving a s***?
Cause if I ever did I don't remember it.

Brilliant. I once attended a "South of the Border" party (dress like someone you would see in Mexico) as a tourist.
Loud shirt stripped pants colorful hat a Bota bag filled with wine a camera around my neck and a bottle of pepto bismal
in my back pocket.

This show began airing on MTV in 1989. Odd that there would be a show called "Classic MTV" when the channel wasn't even 10 years old yet.
There was also the short lived That 80's Show that started airing in 2002 though I'd blame it's failure on poor writing (as well as acting) rather than trying to cash in on nostalgia too soon.
