I can't believe nobody has posted "Slow Boat To China" yet. It's right up there with "Steamer" in my book.

Hey Pruitcake...I (your wife) was the first to post Blue Heaven  I'm the Amy on the first page

I think I'd now have to agree with Slow Boat to China and Survive. How could I forget those?

I have to say the Night I Painted The Sky is one of my favorites, but Distantly In Love was "our song" before my husband and I got married, he was in Canada and I was in Texas.... it just fit!

I would have to pick "Little Miss Magic". Anyone with a little girl of their own will understand!

Amy. I was thinking Slow Boat. It was very romantic when you sang along with Jimmy in my ear at Pine Knob back when I did not yet know the words, but I didn't want to pick a cover. How about Honey Do?

I would have to say Coast Of Marseilles and Miss You So Badly stick out in my mind but there are so many others.

If you can't chose a cover like "Slow Boat"... then I would go with "Happily Ever After(Every Now And Then)". Jimmy wrote that one with Dave Loggins.

Of course you can chose a cover. Slow Boat was one of the first songs that came to mind when I read the question. I love Coast of Marseille too...another awesome cover...hadn't even though about that one.
I think you were the one who pointed out to me that Pacing (which is one of my favorite songs that Jimmy sings) is a cover. I have never heard the originals of any of these, so they are Jimmy's tunes to me.

Okay, then... I sticking with my FIRST choice!
And I do remember telling someone about "Pacing"...
btw, Have you ever gotten a chance to hear the Bruce Cockburn version? They are both good, but I do like Jimmy's better. (Although it kind of give me chills thinking he may really MEAN it when he sings those lyrics...)

Haven't heard the original version of Pacing. I remember how shocked I was, though, to find out that Jimmy didn't write that one. That song (A few of the lines especially) just seemed like it was intended to come from himself.

"I never knew what you all wanted, so I gave you everything...All that I could pillage...All the spells that I could sing."
How could that have not come from JB?

phruitcake-
I absolutely agree. It is eerie how well that song fits. If you are looking for Bruce's version, it is on the 1996 release "The Charity Of The Night"
