According to Weather.com:
Sat July 26th -
85 - Partly Cloudy 20% chance of Precip . . . That there is an awesome day.
Hey, Matt-did you decide which concert you are going to on Friday night? Or should I say which photo opportunity?
I think its going to be Mac. He stands to the right of the lord . . . I had a great time at the show there to. I'm not wanting to mess with the downtown thing on that Friday . . . A Nice ride in and a nice ride out by then our van will be mostly packed and we can begin enjoying our mental vacation.
The Parrot Dice Lounge kinda like a mirage. Here today and gone tomorrow. You should stop by and say hello when visiting Chicago on tour.

I'm also trying to figure out how to get from downtown to the show. I heard a cab could cost $45-$50 to get there. So if I end up doing both nights, that's almost $200! Crinkles!

So am I. I've been looking on the web (metromix, etc.) but no luck so far. I'll post if I find anything.

Yeah, a cab could get pricey. Not only that, I'm guessing it will be nearly impossible to find one after the show. That's what I'm worried about.

You can take the "el" to Midway and then take the bus. They have a shuttle bus that goes from the Midway train depot to Toyota Park. The el runs 24 hours and they have buses after the show. That would only cost you ~2 each way! It's clean and safe. I bet there will be lots of city parrot heads opting for this option.
Not the most glorious option, but it would definitely be the cheapest!

One of my friends said there's been some construction going on with the trains, which is why I wasn't planning on taking one. How long does it take to get from downtown to the stadium? I've never been...

I think the construction is mainly north of the city, but you can get lots of information including route maps here:
