The problem is there isn't a decent lawn seat. Unless your in the back...j-z wrote:Anyone here sit in the lawn? I always have reserved seats but this year we are going with 10 other people that wanted to sit together.
How early do you have to go in in order to get a decent spot on the lawn?
We will be coming in the resort back entrance so we wont have to wait in the line at the top and come all the way down.
Cheers
The front gets really nasty come show time..
Everyone is pushing trying to make their way up to the front....
Best advice.. Get there early enough to get a seat on the front lawn rail....
Be good & you will be lonesome...............

I agree, if you get there early enough the front rail is the best spot. It was great last year. As the encore closed in we did have a few people try to push their way forward with unfortunate success. My advice, if you have 4-6 people in your group, spread out, try to stay linked and stay wide and you shouldn't have a problem keeping your space. Have one person right next to the mini stair platform - you'll know what I mean when you get there. Good luck, and have fun!!jkortum wrote:The problem is there isn't a decent lawn seat. I never realize what time it is when I'm whooping it up in the lot.
Our group is going to try and get in a little early this year, to get a better spot, we'll see how it goes.
We usually stand by the sound booth, in the 'tapers' area for the best sound. There's a beer stand right there, its not too distracting.

This is going to be a great weekend. I thought about not doing Alpine this year and doing Cincy or Indy because I do Alpine every year and hadnt been to Cincy or Indy in a few summers but I am sure glad I chose Alpine. If it rains the lawn is going to be a mess but it should be interesting. Some of my favorite shows have been when it rains!
For those who werent aware, Mac is playing Friday night at a benefit show for Randy Salerno, a friend of both him and Jimmy who died this last year. It is in crystal lake,il and should be a good time!
