Damned if I know! These women are crazy...
A most mysterious calling harbour
So far, but yet, so near
Where I see the day
When my hair's full gray
and I finally...disappear. BUT NOT YET!!

I will be at the concert tonight at Pine Knob!! I'm so excited!! This is my second JB concert - first was 2 yrs ago at Pine Knob which was still a blast even with the weather so if it clears up like it is supposed to tonight I can only imagine the shennanigans going on in the tailgate!

We will be on the lawn this time, were in the pavilion last time, does anyone know about what time we should plan to head in to get a decent spot on the lawn? Not that we really need a good view or anything but I don't want to be on the backside of the hill either! Thanks!!!

Good morning everyone!

I found my grass skirt. The car is packed. And it looks like the weather should clear up well before the show. Now I just gotta get through 5 more hours of w*rk before I can FINALLY head an hour north to see Jimmy, and hopefully meet up with some of you wonderful people.

Just got home and am looking at blue skies and a few cumulus clouds. 8)
Should be on the freeway by noon.

DaccaDo, if it were me I'd head to the gates around 7. You'll be past security and seated by 7:30, 45 minutes before he takes the stage. You can almost always get a group of 2 or 4 in a good spot by then. If you have a larger group or are stopping for concessions or the bathroom, you can bump that time up a little bit. The party's pretty good inside, too!

Talked to Kev a few minutes ago- they're on their way up now. We'll probably head to the Park-n-Ride in an hour or so.

Saw Dr. Corona again, which is always nice. I love your Corona "beads"!!

We "sacrificed" four virgins this year, which made the parking lot especially fun.

I am already looking forward to next time, since Jimmy "promised" he would see us in two years!!!
well, ummmmmmm, yah, I guess I better come up with something witty to put in this spot since everyone is reading it.......

Well...here I am, in the office the day after Christmas. The only reason I drug my ass in here is because I'll be running low on vacation days come MOTM so I'm saving up where I can. 8)

Anyway...Yesterday was an absolute blast. The weather gods smiled on us after a rocky start, it was a monsoon when my crew woke up at 8am and started packing the truck. I was dressed like the Gordon's Fisherman trying to stay as dry as possible. We got the truck packed and about the same time we were finishing up, Capt. Flock finally showed up at my house on his drive up from Cincinnati. We ran to Meijer, loaded up on last minute supplies and were off to the Knob by 10am.

As soon as we made it to the Park 'n' Ride the weather had broke and the sun was actually coming out. We made our way to our reserved spot (so says me, hehe) and unloaded the rig. We were shortly joined by Martyritaville and Moe, Caly, Gumbo Pirate and his friend who's name I forget, Chippewa, Longboarding Al, Jaeger Dave and a few others.

We partied like rock stars there until about 1:45pm when we got the call from our source inside the Knob that the lots were opening to "club members only" a few minutes later. A mad dash was made to cram everything back in the truck and we were off. The smart one's in the lot followed our lead and packed up when they saw us running around and they were right behind us, cutting people off in traffic

We made our way into the lot and had great spots right next to the bathrooms, i.e. trees   We reset everything up and got back to drinking. The parrot pi$$ flowed like water from Flock's party ball. Coconuts and cAsE SeNSitivE then showed up and started cooking up a SERIOUS batch of gumbo. Anyone who didn't come by our area for a bowl of this really missed out. (Shameless plug: Any of you who did get a bowl and loved it, Coconuts quit her day job last week and is starting a catering business so send her your support!!)

A few of the late comers started to trickle in...Dr. Corona found his way to us and Simply Complicated was causing her usual trouble, as was her aunt and cousin who I affectionately named 'Roscommon' becuase I couldnt remember her real name  .

7:45pm rolled around and in we went (after we killed a bottle of jaeger)...way to rally Coconuts!!!! :P Jimmy and the band were on fire and the crowd was really loud all night long, especially when he greeted us as the Stanley Cup champions 8) He then traded some guy in the front row his flip flops for a Red Wings jersey and set that on 1 of the guitar stands for the entire show.

Jake and Sonny were on board and about 1/2 way into the show you could see Fingers standing in the shadows just off-stage so you knew he was about to make an appearance. Jimmy played something yellow...so I went on to get more beer...I got back to my seat and out came Fingers for a couple of songs. The man can play harp, end of story! :D

The show rolled on and they finished out their set with Fingers making 1 more appearance. Jimmy came out for the encores, looked at us, smiled and then grabbed that Red Wings jersey he'd let sit there all show and put it on. The place absolutely went nuts!!! He played both encores wearing that jersey and was really feeding off the energy of the crowd. We got some good pics of him on the big screen wearing the jersey so you know that'll be my new avatar here and on myspace.

The show ended and we got back to the rig, broke out the gatorade and tried sobering up for the long drive home. The others in my crew drank what was left in cooler and I took a powernap so I could drive. An hour later we were on our way and we got to my hosue around 1am.

Thanks to everyone who came out and made this such a great time:

Coconuts - fabulous gumbo
Jaeger Dave - letting me go on a beer run with you in your convertible 'vette
Marty & Moe - for the T-shirt and for just being good peeps in general
Simply Complicated - for letting me put a lil Captain in you
Capt Flock - Parrot Pi$$, Jaeger
Gumbo Pirate - charcoal, burgers and ice
Caly - for letting me lay you...you were my 1st canadian

KY Parrothead and BB Stef - get out of my house, go home...I dont want to see you there when I get home today...I can't drink anymore

There are others that helped out too, I'm just too tired to think...so thank you all! Next stop, Cincinnati!!! 8) 8) 8)
