I'm back. We had full intentions of getting over to the BN crew, but got stuck in traffic trying to get over the Walt Whitman, then when we finally got near the venue, we were directed to to the parking lot right across the street from SBC. I thought the parking was great, until we came back out and found that my fin was ripped off the roof my vehicle
. The bass-turds who did it didn't take the time to unhook the 6 bungee cords holding it down, they ripped and cut them. I hope they enjoy their souvenir. On another note, I have never met a more incompetent and rude venue staff. We were denied entry by several people and treated like dirt, for trying to bring diabetic supplies into the venue. I walked over and got instructions on where to go and what to do, prior to the gates opening. Well, we go to right where we were told to go, and told the people our situation, like we were supposed to tell them, and were pulled out of line (after being searched), told to go to another area, then told to take all but one needle back to the car because "those people in there will steal your stuff, and we can't have a bunch of needles in there..." (we had 3 in the kit). Nobody who was anybody had a clue as to the proper protocol. All this after being treated rudely on the phone by venue staff the other day, when I was trying to get information to make our entry go smooth. I don't think SBC will be on our radar for any more concerts.
Okay, after the complete decompressive soapbox tyrade/rant, here's a positive note - The show was great, the band was as tight as ever, we got to see Bubba up pretty close, Jake was incredible, and all of the people around us in the concert were super, including the security. My kids had a great time overall for their first show. Oh yeah, and I got full-serve gas for cheaper than self-serve at home.
Life is full of give and take. We need rainy days, so that we really appreciate the sunny ones.
If anyone sees their drunk neighbor kid come home with a 4 ft plywood shark fin, kick 'em in the nuts for me.
