whewww....just changed our hotel reservations from Sept 1-3 to August 26-27...same rate (thank goodness). Seems the 4 Points Sheraton didn't get the JB tour date memo (yet) this morning

I am assuming/hoping there will be a Mac show at the State Theater on Friday August 26th?

Me too Surfpirate....I considered going to Jones Beach this year, but there was something special about those two nights last year with Mac (friday) and Jimmy (Saturday) so we are coming back to Virginia. Looking forward to seeing everyone in August!

Wow, the Bristow show was just announced today and the Best Western Battlefield Motel (where we've stayed for 5 years straight) had no rooms available on Saturday, August 27........that was quick!Saltx3 wrote:whewww....just changed our hotel reservations from Sept 1-3 to August 26-27...same rate (thank goodness). Just booked at the Holiday Inn also on Balls Ford Road across Route 234 from the Best Western.......http://www.holidayinn.com/hotels/us/en/ ... oteldetail
So nice to see the word "Tentative" removed from the thread heading........

we changed our hotel from 4 points to the Hampton Inn which we think/hope is a little closer to the Lowes where we met up last year.Bfan53again wrote:Wow, the Bristow show was just announced today and the Best Western Battlefield Motel (where we've stayed for 5 years straight) had no rooms available on Saturday, August 27........that was quick!Saltx3 wrote:whewww....just changed our hotel reservations from Sept 1-3 to August 26-27...same rate (thank goodness). Just covering my bases, 4 1/2 months is kind of a long way out for someone my age to be making plans for anything. But in case I can make it, I'm booked at the Best Western on Mathis Ave., AAA rate is $85 for Fri night and $93.75 for Sat. I think that's where I stayed 2 years ago.
what I really mean . . . I wish you were here

I'm not a member (I'm old enough) but AAA was a little cheaper.

Nothing within walking distance, but just keep checking this thread as others discuss motel options, parking lot strategies, etc., OK?parothdlar wrote:First timer going to Jiffy Lube we are looking for a hotel with an outdoor pool & to chill out . . . . Bristow (I still can't call it "The Lube") is a great venue for tailgating and I've never had a bad seat. Hopefully you can meet up with us other BNers at the show.....

IF by some chance there is not a show at the State Theater.........John Prine is playing at Wolf Trap on August 26.
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Pinot Noir in one hand - chocolate in the other - body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming "WOO HOO"
