Heading in from Fort Mill ourselves, looking at the HI Express unless someone can recommend something closer? Looking to avoid driving at all costs to and from the show
Also need 2 lawn tix if anyone has extras, send me a pm. Took the wife last year to Charlotte in reserved seating and want to show her the lawn party this time.

Okay folks, we are about a week out. Are there any other suggestion on where to go for tailgating and how to get there? We will be flying blind coming in from Ohio. All advise is welcome!!!

We usually park in the gravel parking lot off of Lakewood Avenue.

Take a look on googlearth or bing maps (aerial view) of the ampitheater (2200 Lakewood Avenue), you can see the paved lot to the west and the large gravel lots that are around the lake to the east-southeast. To get to the gravel lots is easy, 75-85 to 166 (Langford Parkway) east, it deadends into Lakewood Avenue which will be packed by noon with people waiting to get into the parking lot. Shucks, they'll start lining up early for this one, probably 9-10 AM if not earlier. The past several years people were partying outside the gate til they opened.
Right now the weather report is typical Atlanta in June, sunny, hot (86+) with a chance of rain (had been 60% chance) but I bet that changes twice before the week is out.
