I've been to numerous shows the last 17 years, but will be making my first trip to Mansfield. We have a group traveling in a RV. Just a few questions:

1) What time does the lot generally open to the public. It seems like the gates have been opening later at the venues we've frequented.

2) Does anyone have any campground recommendations for the area. We will be arriving in the area on Friday and would like a campground where we can enjoy some adult beverages without having to worry about a 9:30 quiet time.

Much thanks for any assistance.

Thanks DP66. Great news that they open the lots early.

Have you ever stayed at Canoe River. We have a long drive and want to have a good time when we arrive. We're not 21 anymore and we're not obnoxious, but we want to be able to site around the campfire and share some stories and have some laughs without being threatened by the staff.

Have heard some great things about Mansfield tailgating. Hope you New Englander's wont let us down.

They are actually a pretty boring group. Tailgate isn't much to speak of. Kind of like sitting around watching paint dry. They do have fairly decent food though.

Kidding, of course! They are actually one of the most welcoming groups around. Great tailgate, and the food is amazing thanks to Chef Gunthermoose!

Here's a question for anyone....

Tickets are available at the box office on Friday morning. I can take Friday off this week Is it worth it for me to drive down there? Will I get any better a ticket?

Now that everyone's computer is a TM machine it's a crap shoot as everybody is pulling from the same pool. Back in the day before the online stuff you maybe had a better shot at the venue as they usually had more then one machine running and could pull tickets quicker then the local TM outlet at a store that probably had only one machine. Only benefit of going to the venue, or any TM location IMO, is that you don't have to enter the crazy reCAPTCHA stuff.

I say you leave a day early and ride up with Kevin and Linda. That way, you can leave a lot of baggage at home and actually have fun. Just don't trust their GPS.
That does sound like a lovely idea...although I couldnt smoke in their car either, but that was funny!! Will prob just drive so that if I decide to continue on to the cape Im good
It would be great if you went to the cape. I am guessing with how much sleep you don't need, you will beat all of us there.

Both computers I have access to are relatively slow for some reason so I was wondering if putting in the mileage would help. Thanks for your insight. I'm no glutton for punishment to get there and stand in line outside but if I thought it might get me a better Sec 1,2 or 3 seat I'd do it.

chances are ....NO.....they probably do a lottery , and then the scalpers get involved.....if you were to.....drive to a obscure town in Western , MA like Pittsfield ..or Brass City Mall in Waterbury , CT....then you may have a shot.

No I'm not doing that, the only reason I considered this is because it's not that far from me. Seems like it wouldn't matter anyway.
