Who's Going to Cincy 7-16??

Newbie to the board, but long time parrot head, scored a deal at the marriot riverfront in covington, I plan on being in no condition to keep my vehicle between the navigational beacons before or after the concert, what is the taxi situation like to and from, we have never been to a concert at the cincy venue

you can call for a cab, but it is going to be a long time in the traffic after the show ends.

To concert: I imagine, if you want to get to the concert early (like a couple of hours or more) to walk around the tailgate, cabs should be easy to get.
From concert: there are cabs up and down Kellogg St. waiting for customers after the concert. My suggestion: leave the concert at the last song and move fast to the street, hail a cab.

*groan*....to be among the first in the lot, now you have to get there at 7 a.m. Gary refuses to get up that early. I may have to resort to the tried-and-true method of setting the clock ahead in the motel room.

up at 5 and shower, then get coffee, take everything out in the cooler, make a fast stop by Meijer or Walmart for ice, then head down the outer belt to get in line.

Some of the hotels on the riverfront will offer shuttle service to the venue, you may want to check with your hotel and set it up prior to getting to the hotel. As Citcat mentioned there are cabs waiting for fares after the concert. See you at the concert.

Okay peeps - info relayed from Riverbend Chief in Charge to the Prez of the Cincinnati PHC regarding the tailgate lots at Sutton Rd & Kellogg

Update on Tailgate! IMPORTANT PLEASE READ! From Coney island 6-17-13!

The Tailgate is on and they really do appreciate the Parrot Heads and the co-operation they get from the Club in helping to clean up! THEY LOVE THE BOXES! They will be coming around about midnight to cleanup a lot of what they can see. We are still needed in the morning.
Due to Coney island losing 1000 spaces because of the Construction of River Downs Racino they had to squeeze more cars into the tailgate areas.

There will be no swimming pools this year and NO Sand for Limbo pits. He does send his regards on this. Every...thing will be back next year. They would like our co-operation on this. The two RV's will be allowed the night or day before. We have earned that right.

Now for the bigger news. TIME! The gates for the tailgate will not open until 8AM, repeat 8AM! the cars will be squeezed a little tighter this year and we will not be able to park all willy nilly.

He has also asked that NO TENTS be set up until the parking area around you has been parked (Around 8:30). They have to make room for lanes. They did apologize for this but because of construction it just cannot be done any other way. There have been rumors floating around about all kinds of things. The official word will be coming from Coney Island in just a bit and I will get this out to everybody!

Oh good gosh I hate that phrase "Official guidelines" !!! What more guidelines could there be ? There's already no sandpits or pools....lemme guess: no nekkidittity (good luck with that one). No cornhole games (YAY !! ). No glass bottles (this is a possibility). No college pukers ( ). No grills (EGADS !!!! )
