Who's Going to Cleveland June 24!??

Post by BuckeyeParrothead »

And who has the inside scoop on preparties? I remember one year there was a pool party at a nearby hotel with bus transportation to/from the show. Given the lack of tailgating allowed at Blossom, I would prefer finding something like this again.

There actually was tailgating last time. Not as early or crazy as other places, but the most I have ever seen at blossom. Anyway, count me in. I was only planning to go to Cinci this year, and I hate Blossom, but it is hard to skip a show so close to home!

I was there so I know there was "tailgating" but nothing like the tailgating I am used to at Pittsburgh. Police on horseback were confiscating grills and fining people. I'd rather just hang at a pool until show time than do that again.

For every other show at Blossom, I am not a fan. For this one, I am. We have a concert coming to the Northcoast! Well, at least the backwoods middle of nowhere spot along the Northcoast, but a Northern Ohio show none the less....lol Not really sure where else he could play that has the size and the outdoor atmosphere.

Our tailgating experience was not a problem. Propane grill, no bottles, cans in cozies...officier came over to our group, which was about 20, talked for a few minutes, then took off. Blossom is never going to be the best tailgate, but it is what you make of it. I did hear there were some areas where the patrols were real jerks, and that is a shame. The folks at Blossom are what they are, and being a family friendly forum, I will not elaborate on that.

After this winter, nice to have something warm to look forward to!

Blossom will give me a reply shortly about tailgating. I am going to assume the same as the past. No open bottles, no open grills, tents only in the grass areas.

We will have a pre party the night before, and the pool party the day of.

I also was at Blossom last time . Got to Parking Lot around 4PM . Yes , there were sheriffs on horseback , but the only thing they did was move canopies and chairs so that there was a aisle between rows of cars so that an emergency vehicle could drive down without obstacles if needed . There were many propane grills , I saw 2 charcoal grills but they were rather small . No problem with alcohol in plastic cups and cornhole type drinking games everywhere . Toughest part was exiting the parking lot . Not because of the long wait to exit ( A Blossom tradition ) but it rained heavily the night before and the grass lots were very muddy in parts and real slippery . Overall tailgating was great . Blossom still states their "official" rules , but are not dictatorial in enforcement . Remember seeing LandShark Girl and Popcorn Jack working the lot !! Cant wait !

Not sure if Moe & I can make it yet, but I'm here to tell y'all, North Coast PHC does things right! Their 2011 parties were fantastic and a lot of great folks, there, too! :D

Painter, if you are seriously thinking about brushing your talents with us here in Ctown, trust me, we WILL show you a good time.

Tailgating will be good, maybe not as good as some, but trust me, folks here party as hard if not more so than everywhere else. We have more than our fair share of hard core fans, and some of the most beautiful women, must be the Erie water.

A man of your talents may be king! At least for the day.... quality canvas at Blossom my friend!

I'm originally (always) from Cleveland, and my extended family is scattered all around the area still.

I would love to try to swing a trip up that way. Hm...think, think, think. So many options for me this year!

I went to Blossom in '04 and I had a good time. Maybe I should make a return trip to northern Ohio.

I've been to 4 Buffett shows in Ohio - the one in Blossom in '04, Columbus in (I think) '05 and twice in Cincinnati, the last one in '09. I haven't been anywhere in Ohio since the last Cinci show I went to.
