Our local venue Alpine Valley, WI, has a number of campgrounds located close to the venue that become Buffettized during the weekend of his annual tour date. Since AV is OUT this year we have tickets to visit you lovely folks in the Cincinnati area on July 8th.
Are there campgrounds in the general area? If so, can you let me know what they are? And also are any favorites for JImmy fans the weekend of the concert?

The past several years I have stayed at Cedarbrook campground in Lebanon (just a few miles from Kings Island) full hookups available. They have switched over to being a KOA campground now. I had it timed to leave at 7am, stop at Kroger for gas and ice and I'm there at 8am. I have a 38ft Class A so it's too big to line up early on Sutton. If I get there before 8 I hang out at Belterra Casino. Yes, someone from security runs out and tells me I can't park there but I nicely explain that I'll be leaving in 15 minutes and not setting up there. If you get there by 9:30am it's usually OK but this is the first time in about 20 years it's been on a weekend so the crowd may be larger.

So where is everyone staying? We are at the Best Western Clermont, our usual place! Would love to party when we arrive on phriday!

Absolutely! If that's the place to be! Never stayed there before.

Great Place to stay. The official preconcert party is at the Sandbar (4609 Kellogg Ave) close to Riverbend. Hosted by the Cincinnati Parrothead Club. Info is on their facebook page. Music by Margaritaville's Top DJ -JD Spradlin and The Conch Republic

Where are you staying Mr. Bill?

I'm not sure. Bern's wife booked rooms and I can't find the email. It's not the Best Western, though.

Right now we have 4 rooms at the Hampton Inn by Hilton at Eastgate, about 2 miles away (Right on I-275 as well) from the Best Western. We tried for that hotel based on part of our group had stayed there a couple years ago, but it is sold out, as are many hotels in area, and those that are not, are asking for relatively big $$$. We also get breakfast, which is important, as Bill gets cranky if he doesn't get his pre-tailgate waffle, and he gets very careless with his brushes. It is not a pretty sight, and because of it, he is banned from painting in all states that begin with a "B" or a "Y".............

This way, fun and merriment without brushstoke fear can be had by all!!!

Last year we attended the Cincinnati Parrotheads for a fun fundraiser with GREAT music, along the River the night prior, and may look to do the same this year.
