It's my husband's 40th birthday this year so I'm trying to navigate my way to taking him south for a Jimmy Buffett Concert and in hopes of trying to purchase of a backstage pass? Any suggestions from anyone would be greatly appreciated as I am a new parrothead introduced to Jimmy from my husband and well he's obsessed! But it's a great obsession to have.

Let me know if you can help from the great white north.

Welcome to BuffettNews!

If you go over to this forum http://www.buffettnews.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=40 you'll see threads for each concert, including 4 that were just announced for February.

You can't buy backstage passes; you'd have to know someone to get one. You also have to understand that a "backstage pass" doesn't really get you backstage. It gets you into a pre-concert hospitality area/tent where there are free beverages and munchies, and where you're likely to have the opportunity to talk to some of the band. But Jimmy Buffett doesn't come out to the hospitality area, so you wouldn't get the chance to meet him even if you were to somehow get a pass.

Yes, and speaking from recent experience sometimes the drinks aren't even free.

Also, if someone were to walk up to you claiming that they have a back stage pass for sale I would be extremely leary of buying it, because in this day and age where the economy is in the crapper there are people who will do just about anything to earn a quick buck.

I'm following on Twitter but I have to say it's not my glass of Malibu. It's like yelling into a well and hoping someone is at the bottom and will yell back.
