Alpine Country Inn Offers Buffettt party on 28th of Aug
The Country Inn and Suites is offering a Buffett Parrothead party weekend the weekend of Aug 28th. The rates are consistant with other years and what they charge during the Buffett Concert. Could be the date...

I guess now they are doing it for the weekends of the 7th, 21st, and 28th of Aug. No other month has it so it looks to at least be narrowed down to August.

Phooey on the hotel package. When's the Parrothead Ball at Hemingways?

Hemingway's has nothing on the 27th scheduled and South of disorder band has a private party planned on the 28th.

Ok, Jolena & Eric shook me out of my tequila haze yesterday in cloudy Key Largo. Hemingways has reopened for the season last week although I am trying to stay away for at least another month until all that cold weather and snow decides to head back to the Artic. Rumors are flying as to Alpine dates and pre-party and bus info. Thought I'd better do a quick note to all.
As Rob indicated above, we will not be working with Volcano Express this year. Of course all those using Volcano Express are welcome to come to our party as always!
The 2010 "Got A Lot To Drink About" pre-show party will be at Hemingways featuring a "Phreddy Phishstixs" reunion for those in the know:-) Once the Alpine date has been firmed, we will provide all the "Big Top" details.
We realize that 2009 was a tough year for all and 2010 isn't looking much better yet. We are going to do everything we possiblty can to make this a bash that is not only infamous in nature, but affordable to the PH clan.
Hemingways will be providing buses to the show again this year has well has our pig roast and bbq. Party will start at 4pm, music from 5pm til we decide to close:-)
More info to follow. Stay tuned and PHINS UP FOR ALPINE 2010!

If you have been to both, which Parrothead Ball did you like better and why. The Janesville BW or Hemmingways. Just wondering cause I've been to the Janesville one, but never had the chance to head to Hemmingways

Re: Alpine Country Inn Offers Buffettt party on 28th of Aug
Actually, there were two parties last year too, and I managed to get to both of them. Stopped off at Buffett Bash at the Two Seasons Bowl in Elkhorn; Matt Wahl, the Cedar Island Band, and the Boat Drunks were playing along with special guests Nadirah, Doyle, and Mr. Utley. I hung around there for a couple hours (if I remember correctly I met Santa), then went over to Hemingway's. Got there late but was still in time for the final set featuring the Beach Bum Band, South of Disorder (Hemingway's house band), and others all on-stage simultaneously.
I'm glad I was able to get to both, and Hemingway's is definitely on my list of places to hit next time I'm in the Lake Geneva area...so — if I go — I'll probably have to try to make all three of them this year.
By the way — I've seen it both ways, so is it Hemingway's with the apostrophe-'S', or is it Hemingways without any punctuation?

Re: Alpine Country Inn Offers Buffettt party on 28th of Aug
Well 2009 was a sh#@*ty year for most and 2010 isn't looking much better. But now the date has been set, the preparations have begun and the ParrotHead nation gathers!
Fresh off the Coconut Telegraph Midwest Edition - here is the draft version
Hemingways to host the
2010 UNDER THE BIG TOP PRE-CONCERT "GOT A LOT TO DRINK ABOUT" FULL MOON WEEKEND PARTY!
The official sponsored phlocking starts Friday June 25th at 3pm with the general mayhem featuring
Frank Whiting
Mr. Myers
South Of Disorder
Pirates Over 40
Music starts at 5pm and goes til we drop
Saturday, our doors open at 10am for pre-concert gathering and preliminary tailgating in our lot. We will be doing Bloody Mary Breakfast, Margys, Landshark and patio food for the afternoon.
The Saturday night post party event will once again feature The David Marshall Band and we will be broadcasting all the pre-show and post-show events live as usual for those unable to attend the concert.
Finally, on Sunday, wind down with us starting at 9am with Bloody Marys, omelettes, and lots of post concert sharing to prepare for the return to reality trip home.
I would expect the "rape" of the phlock regarding lodging to begin if it has not already, it has been a tough year for Lake Geneva and surrounding communities and I am expecting the hotels to jack up their rates inappropriately, but not much we can do. I have calls out to try to pull in favors but as of yet, am not hearing any good news. I will keep all informed if I am able to lock in some decent rates in the area. PM me if you are in need of lodging, we will do the best we can. Anyone with Jolena & Eric's group are already on a list. Would hope that Volcano Express is securing good rates also. BNers will take priority on list.
Being it a Full Moon gathering, we decided to not only go insane, but to be insane. Expect lots of games, give-aways, craziness and mayhem all weekend!
Knowing how bad off a lot of us are due to the economic situation, this year's party is gonna be just that, a huge fricking party. I (we) have appreciated all your past loyalty and patronage to our events and phlockings, therefore this year we are going to return the favor for those who can't afford it due to events completely out of YOURS and OUR control.
We are asking for a $10.00/person donation on Friday to cover our costs, BUT if you can't afford it this year, you won't be turned away. Yep, 10 bucks if you can, if not, no worries, come and enjoy!
Food will start at 5pm and run til it is out. The usual pig roast/bbq and all the fixins, price will be $5.00/person.
DESIGNATED DRIVERS ENTER, EAT AND DRINK FOR FREE AS ALWAYS. PLEASE, EITHER HAVE A DESIGNATED DRIVER OR TALK TO US ABOUT RIDES AND RIDE SHARING. NOT ONLY DO WE ENCOURAGE PARTYING WITH A PURPOSE, BUT WE STRESS SAFE AND SMART PARTYING.
Once again we will be setting up buses to the show from Hemingways. Email us if you are in need. More details shortly. As always, we suggest you check with Volcano Express also, they do a great job. We don't know the status of Volcano Express involvement this year with our pre-concert party, but we hope they will join us as in years past.
We are working on shuttle services and rides from local area resorts and hotels, they should be inexpensive and we encourage you to use these if you are in the area and attending. Details will be out in the near future.
For those of you car pooling it, our parking lot is available as in the past. Feel free to meet there and carpool in to the show.
More to follow in the next few weeks. Visit Hemingways webpage for updates regularly http://www.hemingwaysportofcall.com
