I don't think Jimmy's people ever said that...it was just a "theory" that someone proposed last week when the delay was announced.ScarletB wrote:Where did you see that? They waited to release it til today because of the whole iPad Apple into thing.7vegas11 wrote:Okay,

"theory", "wishful thinking", "hopeful pipe dream"
call it any of the above, but I really had my hopes up
you would think that at my age,
I would be able to deal with disappointment a bit better

Re: 2012 Tour
I was hoping you knew something I didn't! Although I figure it's generally February before we get most of it. At least that's when GW has been announced the last few years. Last year was late but I think that was because he was recuperating.7vegas11 wrote:"theory", "wishful thinking", "hopeful pipe dream"

Re: 2012 Tour
For the 2009 tour, the dates came out around Feb. 2.
For the 2010 tour, the dates came out around Feb. 6.
For the 2011 tour, the majority of dates came out around the first of March.
We oughta have a BN pool to see when they come out THIS year. Bein's as he's still in the WTF tour, there's no tellin'.
The only good news about the hubby's job loss/retirement is we don't have to worry about getting vacation dates as early as possible.
Where are Mick the Pirate and Martyritaville with their prognostications ?

Well in the M'Ville game intro JB did joke that he was working on the setlist for the new tour...

Re: 2012 Tour
i'm starting to think WTF will be continued through 2012......Usually 1st leg of the tour starts mid April to mid March......with, Jimmy doing some March dates , i don't see where he is preparing to change things, as far as a new Tour name. Does he go to Australia in April?? a lot of added winter shows , Doing a show at the end of March in Tampa....just a lot of confusing signals he is sending. Unless ,that is his plan....Keep us guessing!!

Re: 2012 Tour
Surprising even to me, I've almost stopped caring. I'm spending money on a fair number of non Buffett concerts this year. Looks like it will be only GW for me.

Someone mentioned that in the Margaritaville Online announcement interview he said he is working on the set list for "the new tour".TommyBahama wrote:i'm starting to think WTF will be continued through 2012......Usually 1st leg of the tour starts mid April to mid March......with, Jimmy doing some March dates , i don't see where he is preparing to change things, as far as a new Tour name. Re: 2012 Tour
JB and the CRB could be rehearsing for a new tour while they are still finishing up WTF...I mean after all these years together how much rehearsing do they really need...a few new arrangements and they are good to go. Maybe the almost 1 month break between Louisville and Tampa is the break between the old and new.
And I'm just wondering...besides putting together set lists and giving general direction as to how many shows to book, do you think JB has much more input into the tour?

I like "Back In The Keys" for a tour name. The set list can be dominated by songs from the early 70's and the big screen can have shots of all of our favorite places in the Keys.

Also figure in new t-shirt designs , stage set and props.....also i don't think he would start up right away with a new tour if he is just finishing up with a old tour....in the past he'sd do a few winter shows in Jan and Feb.....and start a new tour in April....But, this year he seems to be doing a lot more winter dates going into the spring.....i guess time will tell!!!STL Parrot wrote:JB and the CRB could be rehearsing for a new tour while they are still finishing up WTF...I mean after all these years together how much rehearsing do they really need...a few new arrangements and they are good to go. Hopefully the shirts in Miami tomorrow will shed some light on the tour situation.

Re: 2012 Tour
The casino in Miss is the big question. When will it open? How many times will he play it in a year? Will that become Jimmy's "Branson"? What kind of stge/show room/event hall will it have? How many of the smaller dates will lose shows to it?
That is going to affect the tour schedule more than anything in my humble opinion.

It's not like he plays the one in Vegas all the time why would Biloxi be any different? He doesn't show up regularly at the hotel in Pensacola either. I'm not sure the impact will be that great.
