Buffett Atlanta 2012
How about Verizon Encore Amphitheater this year to shorten the north GA Parrotheads drive for once?

No-no-no! I've got a straight shot in on I-20-166, going to the north side of town really screws me up. WAY too much traffic up that way and the venue, while a good one, is just too small. Besides, I think you can get away with some things better at Lakewood than you can at Verizon.tboots wrote:How about Verizon Encore Amphitheater this year to shorten the north GA Parrotheads drive for once?

I am hoping to hear date soon as well..gotta plan my vacation days around it..always try and take a little trip after the show...just a great way to kick it off...taking my boys ( teens that love Buffett, I have trained them well haha) to show in Birmingham...but Atlanta is my adult time...

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Pinot Noir in one hand - chocolate in the other - body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming "WOO HOO"

Went to BHam show this past weekend...great time as always! But there is NOTHING like see JB & the Reefers outside, tailgating, with friends & fins!
So come JB tell us already where/when you are coming to ATL, and anywhere else for that matter!
Someday I will.

Do you know if the Birmingham show was sold out? Did it look sold out inside the venue?C4Parrothead wrote:Dont care where he plays (Lakewood or Verizon)...JUST ANNOUCE IT!!!spucketts wrote:No-no-no! So excited about the show this year. Last year was my husband's first experience, and we are so excited to go again this year. This will be my 7th show in Atlanta.

As an educator I would love a Saturday June show. PPLLEEAASSEE!!
I would like to hear a date soon, Birthday is March 22 and got tickets to my first show for birthday last year.
Does anyone else think we have a later than May date because of b'ham show??

Re: Buffett Atlanta 2012
I was looking back through the past Atlanta dates at Lakewood (cause I sure hope we aren't talking a Phillips Arena show) and he has played July and August. Bet those were some hot and sticky shows, a dusty Atlanta parking lot party in 95+ degree heat. If this is the case we're going to need more ice, and I mean a lot more ice!

Re: Buffett Atlanta 2012
Yes, July concerts in ATL can be brutal. We did back-to-back shows July 4th weekend in 1997; 100+ both days. The worst was the in 2000 when the temperature hit 106!spucketts wrote:I was looking back through the past Atlanta dates at Lakewood (cause I sure hope we aren't talking a Phillips Arena show) and he has played July and August. Guess I am going to spend my summer concert dollars on the Eagles and Zac Brown this year. ZBB is Saturday May 12th, at lakewood.
