I just booked our room (second weekend) through the host at the MGM and, without her coming out and saying it, the dates are all but confirmed. Seems like the second weekend is slightly cheaper up and down the strip but not by much. Probably be some Halloween festivities going on that weekend as well. I just hope the weather is a little warmer that it was last year.

The dates are definitely confirmed and will be released sometime next week. The second weekend may be cheaper at this time, but I don't expect it to stay that way. There's a new festival starting in Las Vegas this year on that same weekend and once the lineup and details are announced, I expect a lot of bookings to happen for that timeframe.

Here's some info on the event:

http://www.lasvegasweekly.com/news/2013 ... es-octobe/

Anyone planning to attend the second weekend, I urge you to book now. If you book directly with a hotel, you can always cancell with no penalty if you find a better deal or cancel your trip. However, rates will likely go up once ticket sales start for LIfe is Beautiful.

Dont forget if you have ever played in any Caesars Casino in any state (they are all across the country) and have a Total Rewards Card, you will probably get free or discounted rooms at any of the 8 Caesars properties in Vegas. Just log in and enter your info and dates. It cant hurt to try if you have a card.

I always wait to buy tickets and have never paid more than $50 each outside the MGM Arena in the hallway by waiting late. But someone does have to pay full price for these to be available this cheap. Its Las Vegas, are you willing to gamble?

Congrats!!

It's my 60th birthday (also belated) and 2nd cancer free year. More important it's concert #50 for me. A bit of a landmark.

Tickets in Vegas are more expensive than the other venues he plays. Floor seats are over $200. The cheap seats are usually in the $75-$80 range.

Does anyone know if the AMEX presale is for any seats at the MGM or certain selected seats? Just wondering what's going to be left over afterwards for the rest of us.

I'm pretty sure I'm not even going to Vegas this year. I'm just tired of the over-worked pre-party. I miss the real tailgating at real venues - which is why I've been so upset over the last 5 years or so about the lack of SoCal shows. Vegas costs a lot more, and is a lot less fun. I'm hoping he'll do a show in Arizona or something at a real venue we could road-trip to - if not, I'll just have a buffett-free year.

I hear ya but sometimes you just have to switch it up a little and go with the flow.

There aren't going to be an infinite number of tours left so don't regret missing him this time around.

Looks like you can buy 200 level seats with AMEX now. I couldn't get anything better to pull up so I'm not sure if there will be another presale announcement or not.

My experience with the presales is they generally release ok tickets for them, but save the best available for general on sale (please note that some sections including Floor A, B, and C generally never are released to the public). After the AMEX presale though, there is another general presale and here's info on that.....
